Just got a shiny new 104M, and loving it. Just wanted to confirm the LFO behaviour was correct, as it feels possibly asymmetrical on sine, and quite strange on ramp. i.e. on sine it takes a lot more time going down than up, and on ramp…ahh…it still goes down.
Please could anyone just check out the video and let me know it’s absolutely normal, so I can get back to enjoying it?
Hopefully this is just a newbie getting confused around delays and lfos!
Having gone through the manual presets, the octaving on page 15, the stair stepper on p14, and the standard octave (or two!) sweep on page 12 (which is what the vid is based on), don’t seem to work.
I’m going back and forth a little with Moog (who are being v responsive), who believe this behaviour to be consistent with the new firmware.
One question which perhaps someone can confirm?
If spillover is on -
Mix at 100% wet.
If bypass is enabled (i.e. red light!), i hear the decays spilling over, but the input signal is completely muted, until i turn the mix knob down. I’d have anticipated simply hearing the dry signal at 100% once bypass is enabled?
If bypass is disabled (orange light), mix functions as i’d expect.
This is indeed the correct (and desired behavior). Here’s why:
When the MF-104M is in Spillover Mode and the delay is engaged, you have a specific audio balance between the dry signal and the delayed signal.
Then, when you BYPASS, nothing should change about your MIX except for the fact that no new delays are being created. The only delay you’ll hear is whatever was going on before you hit BYPASS.
So… in order for that to be true, the MF-104M (when in Spillover Mode) must keep the exact same MIX it has regardless if it’s engaged or bypassed.
If you want your dry signal to be at full volume when in Spillover Mode (and bypassed), you’ll need to keep the MIX knob at 50% or less.
