Re: Trouble using Roland JX-08 as MIDI controller
Do you have another synth to try with the jx/k25m ? Either that or try hooking it up to a midi monitor ( like midiox)to see what its sending. I did try it with my Grandmother and that didn't work either. I think a MIDI monitor is beyond me! It's no longer urgent, but I would like to know - or maybe...

Re: Trouble using Roland JX-08 as MIDI controller
Have you set the Sirin to receive on the same MIDI channel that the keyboard is transmitting ? For devices that only have USB power you can plug them into a usb power adapter when you don't want power them from a computer. Thank you, yes, both are set to channel 1 - the Sirin is receiving MIDI sign...

Re: Trouble using Roland JX-08 as MIDI controller
Update: tried - failed
I just want a small keyboard that can control the Sirin via MIDI, and also be powered off of a power adaptor. I actually don't need many options at all, but want to be able to power the keyboard off of a power adapter, not by a computer via USB.

Re: Trouble using Roland JX-08 as MIDI controller
I realized something - it may be related to the fact that I'm also using the Roland K-25m keyboard - so the keyboard isn't triggering the Sirin directly, it's triggering the Roland synth, which is then sending some kind of MIDI message to the Sirin. I need to experiment with using the "numerica...

Trouble using Roland JX-08 as MIDI controller
I am trying to use my Roland Boutique JX-08 as a MIDI controller to play notes on my Moog Sirin (basically a Minitaur). The Sirin shows MIDI signal is coming (note on/off) but nothing plays. I know the Sirin works because I put it in drone mode, and was able to control it with my PK-5A bass pedals. ...

Re: A glass of red wine, an evening in with the Moog LP
I hate to say it, but I sold my LP. However, it was for a Moog cause - I got the Sound Studio 2 bundle with DFAM and Subharmonicon. I had earlier traded my Micro for a Sirin (which I still have), which meant I no longer had a Moog keyboard. Fortunately, a Grandmother Dark joined my stable and I real...

Re: Will a Taurus 4 ever happen?
Hey, a couple of nights ago, I dreamt I was playing bass pedals. I kind of liked it :) Don't get me wrong - bass pedals changed my life! But I'm just a bassist playing with a drummer and very little other harmonic information - with bass pedals, all of a sudden another voice becomes available! I'm ...

Re: Will a Taurus 4 ever happen?
To me, as a former T3 owner (see my avatar) and current Roland PK-5A/McMillen 12-step, one of the key issues is for the keys to be easily playable. I can't stand the 12-step - it just does not work for me - way too easy to hit a wrong note (I have somewhat wide feet which is a factor). I actually lo...

Swapping out units in 2-tier rack
A couple of years ago I bought the Moog Sound Studio with DFAM & Subharmonicon (glad I got it when I did since they are no longer available). I recently decided I'd like to have 2 DFAMs in the rack instead (still keeping the SubH) - it arrived yesterday and I got to work! I couldn't find the ori...

Yes, I believe a key needs to be pressed down. I saved this post from Steve Moore of ZOMBI:

Re: AI generated post invsasion
When I see an AI generated/controlled by CV I'll be impressed! I really wonder if whoever is doing it is doing it to audition their AI - look, here are sample posts where my AI answered a question! Maybe that's why the original "problem" post is in quotes - I originally thought maybe...
