Are you aware of the fact that the sub 37 does not transmit audio via USB? You have to establish an audio connection as well.
If you did this, maybe try connection the sub via a Midi-Interface and not USB.

i have similar problems. I am using a sub37 (firmware 1.2.0) with Cubase 8 on a 27" iMac. I had it connected via USB. I think loading the Editor-PlugIn made it worse sometimes, so for now I don't use the PlugIn. Connecting the sub37 via Midi In/Midi Out over my Midi Interface helped for most ...
