Re: TOP FIVE MINIMOOG PLAYERS
Yesssss!!!!! Josef Skrzek!!! I forgot to mention! I knew I was missing something. He is up there for sure. I actually have an album of his and it all started seeing that pipe organ video. He has great skill and nuance in his playing. My minimoog player obsession began with Don Airey from the ...

Will vintage pitch bend assembly work on the reissue?
I have recently come up on the pitch and mod wheel panel and wheels assembly off a vintage rev2 1974 7 hole minimoog with the solid smooth white non-ribbed wheels. I have always disliked the ribbed wheels (Oreo cookie)that were common on the 9 hole rev3 late 70s minimoogs and also on the reissue. My ...

Tabletop Sub Phatty - chopping off the keyboard/wheels
Hello- I was wondering has anyone made a tabletop version of their Sub Phatty? I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I was wondering if you could disconnect the ribbon cable that goes to the keyboard, disconnect the ribbon cable that goes to the wheels, take out the pitch/mod wheel housing and ...

Re: Pratt-Read vs Fatar and pitch/mod wheels on the new Mode
Without a doubt Adam Holzman is a great player. I have his album First Offense by the Fents on vinyl and he's one of the greats and I've always liked his playing. The Fatar action works and is of course playable, it's whether you actually like it better or not that some people are on the fence about ...

Re: Pratt-Read vs Fatar and pitch/mod wheels on the new Mode
Awesome. Yeah I'm surprised that no one else is talking about this. The whole Pratt Read vs Fatar thing. Keyboard/keybed-the action is what connects player to instrument and shouldn't be taken lightly or as an afterthought. I think especially to those who were classically trained and come from more ...

Re: Pratt-Read vs Fatar and pitch/mod wheels on the new Mode
Thank you. Yes there's nothing like a P&R keyboard that's been reconditioned with new bushings all nice and smooth with even teeth.
Most people always make fun of me for liking modules but keyboard feel is a big deal to me. Some of my favorite controllers have been an Ensoniq ESQ-1 or a Kurzweil ...

Pratt-Read vs Fatar and pitch/mod wheels on the new Model D
I've spoken with one famous Minimoog player (who I will not name) but who is as credentialed as anyone you could imagine to be a leading authority, and he was always telling me he absolutely loved the Pratt-Read keyboard actions on his 1973 Model D and he thought the keyboard on the Voyager felt ...

Re: Switching MIDI channels makes my Sub Phatty Freeze Note
Thanks for the reply. Yeah like I said, I don't have this rig hooked up to a computer and to be honest I'm on a computer all day at work so I don't use the computer at all in my music. I took the Sub Phatty to work once to my office to download the latest firmware via USB and that did nothing.

Switching MIDI channels makes my Sub Phatty Freeze Note On
So I love the sound of my Sub Phatty. I couldn't be happier about the sound but I've run into a horrible MIDI problem.
So I have a very simple setup for live use, no computer or DAW, no daisy chaining.
Due to the short keyboard on the Sub Phatty, I use a Roland A-37 to control my Sub Phatty ...
