Re: Modulating Sub 37 filter cutoff

Try the knob labeled "Filter Amt" in the Mod2 section. :)

Re: change single note whilst sequencer is playing

Put the sequencer in step edit mode, hold the BANK button, and press a step button. Now any key you hit on the keyboard will change the note for that step the next time it plays. See page 18 (STEP EDIT MODE -> EDITING A STEP) in the manual for complete details.

Re: Subsequent 37 odd Mod Wheel behaviour

Assuming the Subsequent37 firmware is similar to that in the Sub37, I'd recommend checking the PRESET MWHL setting (item 5 on page 2 of the GLOBAL menu.) From page 47 of the Sub37 manual: PRESET MWHL (GLOBAL MENU 2.5) Determines whether a preset’s initial modulation depth is controlled by the mod wh...

Re: Sub 37 MIDI sequence lag and 'stuck' arp/sequencer issue

Can't help with your sync problem (Issue 1). Your Issue 2 sounds like the POLY NUMBER setting has been set to something other than OFF. That's one of the settings (along with POLY MAX) that lets you chain several Sub37s together to get polyphony. Get into page 3 of the MIDI menu and make sure POLY N...

Re: issue with an used sub37

One other thing you could try is to set the pattern to 'Rec' to start recording a sequence, and then pressing a key to clear the sequence. When you switch back to one of the Arp patterns, you should hear the pattern play as expected. This is some strange behaviour that my Sub 37 also had, but someo...

Re: Sub 37 unstable Feedback

Yeah, mine does it, too, and I LOVE it! I get some great effects by setting the feedback control just slightly before the wildness starts and then modulating the wave shape with an lfo, velocity, or pressure.

I definitely see it as a feature, not a defect.

Re: Sub 37 Program change with Arturia Beatstep Pro

What happens when you try changing presets with the Beatstep Pro? What values are you using for CC#0 (Bank MSB), CC#32 (Bank LSB), and program? There's a bit of a disconnect in the concept of a BANK between the Sub37 front panel and MIDI. From the front panel, it looks like there are 16 banks (1 - 1...

Re: Sub37 Sequencer

Ah, OK! So you essentially want incoming notes to advance (clock) the sequencer with each note. Unfortunately, I don't think that's possible, or at least I don't know of a way to make that happen. The sequencer is going to run at whatever tempo the arp RATE knob is set at (or whatever rate the exter...

I'm not sure if this is what you want, but check out LATCH RSTRT on page 47 of the manual. (GLOBAL > SEQ OPTIONS > LATCH RSTRT: OFF)

Re: sub37: when last note priority doesn't work

KB PRIORITY determines how the oscillators react to key presses. You're not hearing it with that patch because that patch does not retrigger the envelopes when a new key is pressed while another key is held, and the amp envelope has a quick decay and no sustain. Try the next patch up (Bank 3, patch ...

Re: Midi sync issues

Check out the Sequencer PHASE RESET setting (GLOBAL -> SEQ OPTIONS -> PHASE RESET). From the manual: PHASE RESET When set to ON , the sequencer timing (the downbeat) is reset the moment a new note is played. If PHASE RESET is OFF (default), then the timing of the sequencer is set by the arpeggiator ...

However if I hit the key 4 to 5 times it may trigger a sound

If you don't have multiple Sub37s connected together in a "poly chain", make sure the POLY NUMBER setting (MIDI Menu item 3.1, page 36 in the manual) is set to OFF.

Hope this helps.

Re: MPC 5000 Resets Sub 37 to Max Volume on Stop/Play

I have no idea if this would work, but since it sounds like you've tried all the logical things, I'll give it a shot. The VOLUME description on page 34 of the manual says: The PRESET VOLUME parameter is located in the PRESET EDIT menu. Learn more about this on page 42. If it is set to OFF the volume...
