By the way the chubby analog sound of a cr78 sounds great with the voyager. I've been sending an extra line from the 78 into the voyager's mixer input, overdriving the channel, adding filter, plus some Memory Man Delay...you can get some real crazy sounds going, insta-drum-remix moog style. Just got ...

On the topic of delays I use a EH Memory Man with my Voyager and it sounds great both in the loop and strapped on the mono output. It's got chorus/vibrato as well.

Ahhh, things are starting to click, slowly...but clicking. So let's say I got the VX-351 (which I don't own yet but probably should get). Is it possible for me to send the trigger out of the CR-78, into the attenuator to drop the voltage, and then somehow use the mults as a splitter to send the ...

Cool, I can see where that would be good times. Is the fact that the trigger out is 15V and the MMV says the ins are 5V an issue?

Voyager + CR-78 beatbox

Does anyone have any experience using an old 1970s technology CR-78 rhythm machine with the Voyager? The CR-78 has a trigger out and I'm wondering what use I can put this to. For example, can I run it into one of the red CV inputs without blowing anything up?

The manual says it's a "Trigger pulse ...

Hi, I came here to see if anyone else is having this problem, and it looks like they are.

Having the same issue. Flat out won't fire up "app has unexp quit" etc, etc. It doesn't have anything to do with docks or the other contents of the folder being present. Tried re-downloading. 10.2.8. Powerbook.

Solar can you recommend a decent amp to beef up the Nord? What about effects units?

I recorded an album a few years ago for a Radiohead-esque type band and the synth guy used a Nord. We all agreed the instrument needed a big injection of personality and depth to make it sit right in the mix. We ...

That's my feeling on the Nord to. I'm an engineer and they just don't sit in the mix nice without a lot of pushing and pulling. I've always amp and mic them. Using a lot of analog compression also. Or a sansamp or something to grind them up. World class sound quality - no.

The moog Voyager sounds ...

Faulty EP-1?

The other day I picked up my first EP-1 for my new Voyager for use in controlling the amount of the pedal mod bus.

Plugged it into "Mod1" like the manual says but depressing the pedal only 10% causes a leap in mod amount of 90%...depressing the pedal the rest of the way does virtually nothing. It ...

I’m pretty much in the same boat. New to analog synths (and synths in general). I picked up an AE last month and am starting to get the hang of it…already making insane new patches! These units are fairly intuitive. Can't imagine you not having a blast right out of the box.

I’ve found just messing ...

"Oh ya, those moogs, kinda fragile, the LFO blew out within a month" said the Guitar Center sales guy in my town about the abused demo model...while praising the new shipment of Berhinger "it's toob essence dood" mic pres.

Sigh.

Analog is great if you can afford it and have a well maintained quality deck. Heck these days you can probably find some bitchin' Studder for like $5.34 on Ebay. I record digital these days with a metric halo interface, Nuendo and a Powerbook. Digital is great *if* you use very high quality A/D ...

Hey Demo. I got mine a few days ago and it does that as well. Most dimmers create odd hums and such. Thankfully it's not in the audio stream so it's really a very minor thing, except perhaps for your dog who will most certainly not approve of your new purchase. :)

MC, thanks for all the good info. Things are starting (slowly) to click. Still processing.

I can run numerous percussion tracks of audio out my DAW's D/A converters and use the output gain to jack it up some. Guess I'll try plugging some into the CV ins and see if I can get some interesting ...
