you should be fine with 1.0.4.
the problem is if you go to V2.x as you need an EEPROM hardware update (basically more memory to hold the OS).
That's when they get bricked.

i finally got the correct 1.0.4 system file from moog support. downloaded it, copied it to the lpt, did a factory restore and my lpt is as good as new.
I am very happy i did not have to ship it.
big thanks to moog support, we got there in the end.
