Re: High pitched blip on noise modulation. Bug in Firmware?

Eventually someone at Moog was kind enough to send me a calibration procedure. Useful doc, I'm glad to have it. Don't know if it would fix the problem though, guy who sent it me reckoned that the noise signal was coming out a DAC, so calibrating that DC might fix. I don't know, but it's a complex pr...

Re: CP251 - noise on voltage signal

Thanks for the response. I took the thing apart the other day and tested with an audio probe. Indeed there's a chip to generate the negative rail voltage. It has some 100microfarad capacitors around it, to soak up the audio frequency whine the chip makes. One of those capacitors is surrounded by a h...

High pitched blip on noise modulation. Bug in Firmware?

Noticed the following.
I have a patch where noise is routed to VCO2 pitch, creates a fairly good "noise" output.
Every so often there's a brief high pitched blip in the output.
Sounds like the noise signal just becomes a tone for a fraction of a second.

Re: Midi Ox

Thanks Amos,
saved the day.
Slim Phatty was not responding right at all, couldn't load presets except by midi from external command and controls wouldn't work.
Saved presets, Factory reset, Restored presets.
all good

Re: CP251 - noise on voltage signal

I think your unit is faulty*, there is no sound coming from attenuator output connected to expression pedal (whatever the knob position) - it gives DC only. *or there is some other problem in your setup/connection. Ok thanks, I guess you actually tried this with your CP251? To my way of thinking it...

Re: CP251 - noise on voltage signal

OK, how to really hear this.

Plug expression pedal into attenuator input.
Turn attenuator pot full clockwise.
Plug Attenuator out to audio input. (via capacitor if you're worried about DC on your input)

As you turn down the attenuator level the sound cuts fairly sharply, but never goes fully away.

DFAM number of steps

Is it true that the DFAM sequencer doesn't have a way to change the number of steps?

OK I guess you can make a step so short it doesn't count...but then how can you sync to incoming clock?

Re: CP251 - noise on voltage signal

Do we need to send food parcels to Moog Tech Support?
(I mailed them *before* posting here)
I'm getting the problem with isolated power supply.

Re: Issue with mf-102 - please help!

Well, glad to hear moog tech support is still alive, I'd wondered. Have the same problem with my old Bob Moog 102. It's just that the squelch circuit doesn't cut in that quickly. (probably means that long decay sounds don't get snipped, so may be a design feature). Anyway, I love to hear detail abou...

CP251 - noise on voltage signal

Tried sending this to the Moog tech support email. Acknowledged receipt...waiting.. anyway here's the question A bit of background before I get to the problem. I've been using the CP-251 along with other Moogerfoogers for a while now, and I'm familiar with how it works. While using the CP-251 to con...

Re: Slim Phatty CV Outs

I asked my local (Belgium) Moog service point to install the Little Phatty CV out mod, and their quote was a tad under 600 USD. So... good luck with that yes, that's why it would be really cool if the schematics were available to regular technicians. Oh well, still not bored with the un-modded Slim...

Re: Slim Phatty CV Outs

yes it's technically possible to tap into the CV signals on a Slim Phatty. It would be a delicate job for a skilled tech with access to schematics, and would require a lot of soldering wires directly to surface-mount components. Basically I'd describe it as a similar difficulty level to chip-moddin...

Re: Slim Phatty CV Outs

thanks for the suggestion Moog now tell me the Slim doesn't have the option because of size restrictions. hmm, using an external midi device would give me Pitch Out Gate Out (and for the Kenton, an additional LFO) So that would indeed help. ...but not the Envelopes. I do have a Doepfer Dark Energy, ...
