Re: Roland KC vs Traynor
I just wanted to chime in here. I've got the Traynor K4 and love it. It gets super loud and sounds great. For heavy bass though you are going to want some extra beef. When I started playing left hand organ bass, the K4 seemed a little weak. Then the bassist in my band split so I was asked to take ...

Re: Minitaur CV bass pedals?
Studiologic makes relatively inexpensive MIDI bass foot pedals. They have a an octave model the MP-113 and one that goes MP-117 which goes from C-E. They run new from $400 to $550 or so. A lot cheaper than the Roland PK-5/6.

Re: Hand signed moog voyager for sale.
Rob,
The least you could do for causing great emotional stress here at the Moog forum is give someone a great deal on your Voyager. I think a selling price of $1250 incl. shipping in the continental US would be a nice act of contrition.
God Bless you my son,

Re: Taurus 3 patches for Minitaur, anyone got em!
Hey it's me again, the "One Man Thread." After having checked out the patches I have to say that there are some good ones in there. Thanks for including all the presets. I've already learned quite a bit. I have to say for me, I love the handful of patches that I came up with and use but I might ...

Re: Taurus 3 patches for Minitaur, anyone got em!
Okay okay. I'm an idiot.
For those of you like me, if you download the Minitaur Editor the presets from the Taurus 3 are included. Just click on the preset and you the display on the computer spins all the knobs and switches to the correct play.
Honestly I used the editor a little bit when it ...

Taurus 3 patches for Minitaur, anyone got em!
Okay, I've got me a Minitaur here and have used it to great effect with left hand bass. It is easy to dial up some good bass sounds. I see that Moog has some old school patch sheet pdfs for download with some bass patches.

Re: 2 Slim Phattys or Voyager?
To the guy who said that the Little Phatty was a good beginner's board and out growing it, you are dead wrong sir.
The Phatty and Voyager are similar, they have slightly different sounds but they are like brothers. We are talking shades of grey here, not a black and white difference like between a ...

Re: How do you know when it's at perfect pitch?
Tuning the LP by ear takes approximately 10-20 seconds once it is warm. Not everything in life is automatic! :)
I know that pretty much everything needs tuning before a session but it is a pain with the Phatty for two reasons:
1) I also play organ and its tuning is solid and it is hard to hit ...

Re: How do you know when it's at perfect pitch?
Yeah I want to know this too. Last week at rehearsal I was playing it and it seemed way out of tune. I went into the menus to check because something sounded off, AutoTune was on and the little numbers were changing. But it wasn't at A440. I had to go to manual tune and manually tune it to a note on ...

Can LFO Modulate the VCA on the Phatty?
First off, just want to thank Moog for putting in the LFO retrigger with gate mode. This is an awesome feature that I didn't see in the manual but really was trying to do and boom there it is in the advanced presets. Must've been a 3.1 OS feature.
Anyways now I am trying to control the VCA with the ...

Re: Reference Books for Synthesis/Chop Building?
Let me chime in too about chop building.
Scales and arpeggio practice is king here.
For books check out
MacFarren's Scale and Arpeggio Manual (covers all types of scales and arpeggios, major minor, melodic minor, etc. with fingerings for playing parallel, tenths, contrary etc.)

Re: Learning bass?
I just wanted to interject a few things about learning bass lines on the Moog. I really wouldn't look at the Simandl book or most other books written for bassists. The Simandl has all sorts of exercises to help you learn and navigate the upright bass fingerboard. It simply is not relevant to the ...
