Re: Will a Taurus 4 ever happen?

Just because there are people out there who can play bass pedals and you can't, doesn't give you license to bash the product.

Wow, edgy.
I've been a T3 owner since they were first released. I don't have a problem playing them. They could be better of course. (see my previous comment about the ...

Re: Will a Taurus 4 ever happen?

After seeing the newest product from Moog I don't have a lot of confidence that they could pull of a Taurus 4 that would be any better than the Taurus 3. The T3 sucks because it's overbuilt and they didn't put convenient handles on it. But they got the sound extremely right. Nothing I own can get ...

Re: Is Moog Music OK, just learned about the NC floods

I spent some time there a couple years ago. Really shocking that it could be flooded being up in the mountainous part of NC. Also shocking to see parts of town I know well just wiped out or flooded.
I hope their parent company doesnt use this as an excuse to close operations in Asheville.

Re: Headphone recommendations?

I'd advise against the Sony MDR7506. Unless you have a hearing problem and needs excessive treble. These were developed for consumer use in the 80s and are very smile curved. I think in an attempt to hype up the sound of analog media like cassettes.
AKG K240 and Beyer DTR770 are flatter. Though the ...

Re: Will a Taurus 4 ever happen?

Wow that was an unusual one.
About the least "bass" patch I've ever seen from a Taurus. And thats an OG Taurus one. So no MIDI.

Re: Will a Taurus 4 ever happen?

I'm a Taurus 3 owner.
Bought mine new when they came out.
I read there were only 2000 units to be produced. So I skipped the snacks and didn't go out for a month or two to snag one as soon as I could. Thankfully I was working at a 'paycheck every 2 weeks' kind of job and there was a 3 paycheck ...

Re: Taurus III MIDI problems

Hmm well it's been mostly behaving.
But turns out at least once a day I still have to power cycle it to get it talking to MIDI again.
After I get a few more DIY projects and repairs off my bench I'm going to have to open it up and see if there is a chip or voltage regulator that would benefit from ...

Re: Taurus III MIDI problems

I mostly play it with my feet.
But even after several years I'm not that great!
You really need a stool to play it properly,
I don't know how all those prog bands pulled it off standing up.
It's only recently that I've gotten into sequencing stuff with an Elektron beat box. The T3 just has a tone ...

Re: Taurus III MIDI problems

Okay so I did the firmware update and also restored factory settings.
Something was fixed by one of those.
After a power cycle now I'm getting response to midi notes from my MIDI sequencer.
In fact I just played for about 30 minutes and it never stopped.
So I guess it's fixed?
A little worried ...

Re: Taurus III MIDI problems

I got it open just to check that no ribbon cables were loose.
Everything looked normal.

Pressed down on all the ribbon headers just to be safe.
Burnished all the CV inputs with a plug soaked in Deoxit.
Switched jacks can be a problem if they arent used often.
Thats been a failure point on a few ...

Taurus III MIDI problems

Got a Moog Taurus III. First owner, I've been using it since new, but only gigged with it twice.
In the last month or so I've gotten heavily into sequencing on my hardware.
Noticed my Taurus is not there for all the notes.
Started out trying a couple things;
I went into the sequencer and made ...

Re: Minitaur MIDI latency inconsistencies?

I've been seeing some strange MIDI behavior on mine. It isn't responding to all the notes I send it.
Thinking of cracking it open to see if anything is loose.

Re: Model D & Model 15 static when using Logic Pro

I was really, really into these two apps when they got ported over to the Mac.
I used to spend hours just making patches. Really honing in on sounds. On my 14" MBP they run great in Sonoma 14.1.
On my Mac pro it is another story.
I've been going through stuff I wrote on my laptop. Importing it to ...

Model D can't record Mod wheel?

First off, brilliant soft synth. Thanks for doing this.
Use it all the time now for things that are less esoteric, which I use the Model 15 for.
The presets are great starting points when I want to get an idea down quickly.
(if only there was a DFAM app/au I could do a whole song in Moog Land ...

Re: Minimoog MacOs App "Free to all current Model D iOS App owners"?

I'm not comfortable with just clicking "buy".
As much as I love and appreciate the folks in Asheville and want to support their business model of an employee owned company, a nice slice of that fee goes to Apple who is fine, but not in a way that I want to hug them and make them tea.
I didn't have ...
