Re: Recording method of vintage Moogs

Ok so yesterday I took my voyager to the studio of this guy who really likes to experiment with the various instruments he is recording.

I can't recall precisely the connections, but he passed the voyager trough an Orange tubes amp. Instead of micing it, he connected the lineout from the amp to a ...

Re: Recording method of vintage Moogs

Thanks for the replies, I also believe most should have gone direct to preserve most of the frecuencies.

Still, by experimenting many interesting results can be achieved.

Recording method of vintage Moogs

Hi! yesterday I was speaking with a friend who mentioned that early moogs where recorded by passing them through a valve amp and then with a mic. I am doubtful about that, but I really don't know.

I'm sure many most have done it that way, but was it really the common practice?

In present days do ...

Re: Banco del Mutuo Soccorso Synth

Hi LWG, I have experimented with the sync button on diverse sounds getting variable results, on my last approach on getting the dirty sound I used it aswell, but thanks to your explanation on it I will try a new and better focused attempt.

Re: Voyager's sound vs Model D

Alright, but why the voyager doesn't have that type of oscilators?

Do I need a yahoo email to join Knob Tweak? What's the link?

Voyager's sound vs Model D

Hi... I'm SURE this must has been discussed before, I did tried searching not only on this forum but on Google, but I haven't found a thread that address this specifically.

I haven't owned a Model D but I have heard plenty of it and its clear for me that it sounds different to the Voyager, which I ...

Re: Banco del Mutuo Soccorso Synth

LivePsy, I tried the exciter on the Voyager outputs, (too lazy to go to the music store for the insert cable) and it does provides some of the characteristics I was looking for, but it will react differently with every patch since their harmonic content is also very different. I just played like 20 ...

Re: Banco del Mutuo Soccorso Synth

Hmmm, I don't think I agree. On that sample you can hear where the ring mod is dialed up, and the final sound is sort of dirty and saturated "artificially", but the lead I'm refering from Banco, simply sounds like the guts of the machine itself.

Re: Banco del Mutuo Soccorso Synth

I indeed have a Triton which can help me with the task! However, would it be the same if I pass the signal from the voyager's output through the exciter rathern than inserting the exciter between the mixer and the filter? I ask cause I don't have an insert cable, so would I get similar results doing ...

Re: Banco del Mutuo Soccorso Synth

Sounds like worth trying!

I have a Presonus Bluetube Preamp, theoretically, applying some tube drive should add some of those harmonics? I know this is about experimenting and simply trying, but, shoould it improve somehow?

Thanks for replying.

Re: Free - 100 cosmic Voyager sounds

You don't have to loose anything, you can make a backup of your current bank or banks using MidiOx for example.

By the way, I was unable to load this particular bank. I'm using version 2.5, I don't know if that matters anyway.

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso Synth

Maybe you might know this prog rock italian band, if you don't and you like this music gendre you shouldn't miss it!

Anyways, for those of you who might know it, there is a particular great album called Darwin, from 1972 or 1974, can't remember. It has an incredibly powerful raw sound, and an ...
