Re: Ribbon controller

I'm in Southern Connecticut. I think the unit needs more work than I'm willing to put into.

Ribbon controller

I have a model 1150 ribbon controller from many years back. I think it originally came with my Sonic 6. I've moved quite a bit in my lifetime and unfortunately I don't have the proper adaptor cables to see if it works on my Sonic or Mini. It also has a broken switch. Definitely needs work ...

Re: Share your synthesizer music!

Lot's of great music here!! I particularly love Larry's Sonic_Symphony.mp3! Reminds me of early Synergy at times! :hail:

This is one of my recent creations:

Re: Share your synthesizer music!

Ahh....what the heck.
From my CD "Sonic Music-The Prisoner".
This one was done as a tribute to Bob Moog.

Ribbon Controller question

I "found" a model 1150 ribbon controller-which was in storage for years, but can't figure out how to hook it up to either my mini moog or sonic 6.
It has a 2 position switch, one for the mini, and one for the sonic 6.

But the huge connector with 8 pins doesn't match any connection on my mini or ...

yeah, it did sound pretty good. Although, it is drastically under-developed in the envelope department.
It's amazing how much an envelope can contribute to a synths sound.

While I agree that it is does not have the depth of the mini, there are different things you could do with it's envelope ...

Oh...one more thing.
I hope all works out, because there is NOTHING that sounds like the Sonic.

I always thought it sounded like a cross between a minimoog and an Arp Quadra....especially since you can have one oscillator glide while the other didn't.

Thanks, I live in NY and I do have a really good synth tech; His name is Armen and he has a synth repair shop.

I was able to find all of the problems in the "trouble-shooting" section of the service manual, and for all it suggests replacing particular components.

However, within a few hours of ...

Im a Sonic Six owner and have had all sorts of problems with the synth.
The biggest problem being the 2 large curcuit boards which are connected by a rather large soldered 'spine'.

I have the synth working but there are always the tuning problems and intermittent things that just happen to pop up ...

I had the pleasure of talking to Bob via telephone back in the early 80's and he was very gracious.

A song off my CD was dedicated to Bob after his passing. It used the Sonic Six and Minimoog.

As a dedicated Moog user (minimoog and sonic 6), I just wanted to share my joy of making Keyboard Magazine's Unsigned Artist Of The Month for this August.

CD featuring the Minimoog and MoogSonic Six

For vintage keyboard and progressive rock lovers:
I have released a CD which featurs the Minimoog and the Moog Sonic Six.
95% of the CD was played "live" as most of my vintage keyboards do not have midi. It keeps my chops honest

The CD is now being carried by 6 distributors and is along ...
