Re: Editor / VST for Moog Muse

Waiting patiently over here too. Really, I almost want a librarian as much as I want an editor. The manual labor of arranging patches at the moment is kind of a drag, but not that big of a deal.

Hi

I write librarians for different keyboards, and I am thinking of doing one for the Muse as it's ...

Re: Can someone explain 'slew' to me?

Imagine a square wave with its shape transitions from high to low. Now pass it through a slew circuit which is adjustable from no slew to lots of slew. At no slew you will get a square wave still on the out of the slew circuit. As you increase the slew, the transitions will no longer be vertical but ...

Re: New Muse Owner

I'm like you in that I do careful research, so I sell very little on because I am rarely disappointed. Tings come and go normally due to space reasons or I find something new that can cover what I have.

I sold my Montage to part fund the Montage M acquisition, along with selling a Wavestate MK1 (3 ...

Re: New Muse Owner

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are not getting your K3 - hopefully there is a "yet" in that somewhere!

My Kronos X61 is to the best of my knowledge performing flawlessly (famous last words). It is well looked after, and hasn't had a hard life when it is gigged, and is always moved in its flight case. The ...

Re: New Muse Owner

I agree with the Kronos being unique. I guess I will probably upgrade to the K3 at some point, but with the current feature set being identical there is no rush, so will probably wait a year to see what happens on pricing. Whereas when the Montage M came out with the AN-X engine added to it, I HAD ...

Re: New Muse Owner

Yeah, I noticed the site is slow. Probably running on a Pentium or something, but good that it is back, although I still cannot log in

I might do a temporary registration, so I can PM one of the MODs to get my account restored

I was really surprised to a new Kronos as I had ruled it out ever ...

Re: Muse issues

I have the same challenge in no local stores that sell anything of interest.

I guess the question is how many people are lucky versus unlucky?

Re: New Muse Owner

The good news is that Korg Forums is now back, albeit some people, myself included are having login in problems in that my old credentials are not recognised.

Re: Muse issues

Hi,

Can you try a Moog Muse somewhere before ordering, or purchase from an outlet with a good returns policy if you are not happy?

And, with respect, I do not think it is for others to convince you to buy, Only you of course can decide on your purchase decisions based on what you read/see ...

Re: New Muse Owner

Hi.

Not sure who you are as you are only showing as a Guest (some of my posts have has well as you do not need to be logged in, and I did not realise that).

Yes, it is indeed I from Korg Forums (shame it is down). I still have my 2014 Kronos X61 as my second tier board in my main two keyboard rig ...

Re: Aftertouch issue

I did some experimentation this morning in Cantabile (the MIDI hub in my live rig amongst many other duties it does) where I can have a separate MIDI monitor window for different inputs, so I setup MIDI monitors on all of my keyboards

Re: New Muse Owner

The Nienor Part 3 from Guest is really nice, well done! Are you the vocalist on it?
If so I welcome any more female synthesists, it feels more of a male world of synths these days…but pioneers like Delia Derbyshire were the start of it all, so don’t forget us female pot knob twiddles please ...

Re: Aftertouch issue

My Muse is responding fine to aftertouch, which I use a lot. Gordon Reid in his Sound on Sound review mentioned the after touch response was not to his taste, but adding a slew helped. But I haven't felt the need to do that.

Re: Muse screen occasionally goes blank

It could indeed be a bug then. I noticed another one, in that if you press the little triangular menu button on blocks that currently do not have menu items, if you turn either SELECT or VALUE (can't remember which right now) it will lock the unit up.

I am going to check again later, and if ...

Re: New Muse Owner

Thanks, Dave and stiiiiiiive

Yes, it looks a little quiet here, but still worth joining.

I've started programming the Muse now and really like it.

I have to say that having a real Moog in the studio as fantastic as it is, shows me how good the various software emulations are when compared to the ...
