Hi,

in the german Keyboards magazin of Januar 2005 there is a story about Bob Moog. And there is also a double page about Rudi "Lintronics" Linhard. For those who don't know him (hallo Rudi !), Rudi Linhart is the programmer of the Voyager OS and the inventer of the great Minimoog MIDI interface.
There is some great news in the interview part with Rudi.
First a quote in german, then in an english translation by me:

Linhart: "... Das wird interessant, wenn dass Rack-Model des Voyagers erscheint."
Q: "Ein Voyager im Rack-Format! Wann wird das sein?"
L: "Das kann ich selber noch nicht sagen, aber es ist offiziell, dass es den Rack-Voager geben wird."

and now english:
L: "... This will be interesting, when the rack version of the Voyager will be released."
Q: "A Voyager in a rack version! When will it be?"
L: "I can't tell you, I don't know. But its official, that there will be a rack Voyager."

This is intersting news, isn't it?

Sounds very interesting...I'm always wondering what Moog will release next...same with Elektron for that matter.

FYI...My Voyager is being built and shipped and should be here soon!

Yes!
Very intresting.
Question is, if they will build also with a lot of knobs and all the CV/Gate I/O's.

On the other Hand, if we speak about a analogue Rack the Cwejman Sound S1 MkII would be also very intresting in this case, this is semimodular, so you also able to to use some modules, lets say the ringmodulator, with your Voyager. Bad that this one got only miniplugs....
... also tested inside the latest german Keyboards!

This is cool!

Sounds like you're a man in the know, any chance you could slide a little more info over our way?
Complete specs would be great!

Cheers

Ok, no problems.....

but when can we expect it, and will it have midi?

If you cannot answer this directly, then you can use smilies and we can try and decipher the answer

... it should be easy to answer this on our own!
It was already mentioned, that it will have a lot of knobs, so what does this mean. It means that it will be also very expencieve, not the same price like the voyager, but still... around 1500 - 2000. It won't have the touchpad, but all the analog I/O's (cv/gate) (maybe it need also another VX-351 for the O's) and for sure it got the same midi implation as the voyager right now (still hope for enhancenment).
So cut off your keys, shrink the case to 19" and here we go...
For voyager - owners i would like to see a rack without the knobs, only a pure voice-expansion, where you can assign your midievents from the voyager to the rackinternals.

Well Jay you can always go back to TGS.

I saw your original post and I thought it was rash, so I'm not crying.
