Hey good folks of the Moog world -

I had bought a Moog Rogue kind of as an impulse 6 years ago, and ever since I've just been playing it more and more, applying it to nearly every aspect of music as possible, from bass to percussion.

The thing is, signs of wear and age are getting to be a bit of a problem. It first started with my noise slider, it would just max out even when it was at zero value, and I would have to knock the slider or the side of the synth to make it stop. Now there is no noise signal at all. I'm starting to get similar problems in the attack and decay sliders, and now even the cutoff slider (AHHHH!). The pitch wheel is a little glitchy too.

I took a sort of "intro to electronic systems" class in high school, but I don't think I really know what I'm doing, these sound like problems beyond my breadth of circuit knowledge.

Does anybody know of a place in or near Houston, TX where I can get this checked out? If not, what kind of place should I ask to find out more? Who should I talk to? I really can't afford a new analog synth right now and I just want the little ol' Rogue up and running at full speed again (kicked into OVERDRIVE, if anybody remembers the old Rogue promos).

First off has it had the infamous black felt removed? Sadly it turns to goo after 20 years so this may be a contributing factor. You may be lucky and be able to squirt some contact cleaner in the sliders and that might do the job.

I had to get a full set of repro sliders (also got the repro caps, which crack over time) from technologytransplant, but that might be out of your budget (any electronic engineer can replace these - you don't need a synth specialist.
