Battery life

I couldn't find this in the manual, but do you need to leave the guitar unplugged to maintain battery for the piezo pickup?
Should the pedal be left unplugged? I'm assuming yes, since the guitar gets a bit warm after going for a bit.

Also, I sometimes hear a bit of what sounds like dither or static on the decay of the guitar when using the inhibit sustain mode. Is this normal?

Otherwise, its very cool.
thanks

I believe that the battery may just be for powering the dedicated piezo output (i.e. the normal jack). I've noticed that when removing the battery, the piezo blend and pickups still work through the 5-pin output. Sadly, though I failed to check the normal jack's output . . . but I'm betting that the battery is strictly for that.

Still, though, leaving that normal jack plugged in will most like drain the battery from that particular output.

I hope this helps some!

I find it odd that there has been no official reply to this question but.....

My new theory is that the battery is there for when (or if you ever do) run the guitar as a straight guitar, just plugging in a 1/4" jack and not hooking up the pedal. But its only a theory until we hear some confirmation from Moog....

If its there for power isolation for the piezo, do we need to change it often? Does the piezo just cut out when the battery is dead?

If you get the MIDI out mod, that removes both the 1/4 jack on the body,
and the battery. And the piezos work just fine. (I can plug the 13-pin cable in,
and play it as a guitar without plugging in Moog Power at all )

Afaik, the battery is only to drive the piezo's when you are plugged into the 1/4
jack on the guitar body.

btw, I also note the absence of response from Moog on this list....dead product, or just
don't care to talk to users?
