Hi, I'm kind of new to Moog and wanted to know if anyone could tell me what Multing was as well as Attenuation. With multing can you really plug in a control voltage and control it in more than one way?

A mult is just a multiple. It is a series of jacks wired together. It will multiply an audio or voltage signal. Not to be confused with a CV mixer.

Attenuation is just reducing the strength of a signal going to it. FOr example, if you have a square wave LFO that is pulsing octaves, you can attenuate that so it will only pulse in 5ths or 2nd intervals, or where it won't pulse at all. The attens on the cp 251 without red jacks are reversable, meaning that it will attenuate a signal into the negative.

Also, say you take 3 different CV voltages and combine them together in a Multiple. Now say the output goes to your pitch input. But the ADDITION of the voltages (By tieing together in the mult) is too high for the input. You can run it through the attenuator to get it back to useable and non damaging levels. (Or invert it to drive the pitch down instead of up)

I won't be trying that anytime soon lololo.

You shouldn't use a Multiple to combine signals. Just like you shouldn't use a Y-splitter cable going in the opposite direction to "mix" two signals into one. Use the mixer to combine signals.

If using the CP251, if I understand the question correctly:

*take the triangle LFO and route it to the Mult;
-send one output to an Attenuator, and then to the 'Sweep' input of the Phaser
-send the 2nd output to the 4 Input Mixer, and take the '-' output and send it to the 'Sweep In' input of the phaser
*Set the phaser to '12 stage', and each LFO is controlling 6 stages individually, with one going in reverse
-I can't remember if the phasers onboard LFO controls will be disabled, if they're not, just set them to 0, and control rate/etc with the CP251's controls.

You now have control over two LFO's that are cycling in time, but in opposite phase for the classic 'bi-phase' sound. You can attenuate both LFO's individually, and if you're using the 'Offset' input on the 4 input mixer, Im pretty sure you can control offset and attenuate(amount) one of the LFO's. If you route either of the LFO's to the Lag Processor, you can smooth one out into a Sine wave, or make it lopsided, etc. You could also use the lag processor with either the square or triangle to make a Saw/ramp or other shape, and then multiply/invert/etc that LFO for different types of bi-phasing and whatnot.
