Quiet *noise*

Not sure there's much I can do about this, but just in case...

I've set up a patch which is pure *noise* and filters.

The *noise* is quiet even with noise turned up to full and master turned up full.

Anyone know if there's a way to boost the sound internally?

Thanks!

My guess is that your filtering is cutting down on the amplitude. Try changing the filters.

No way to do it internally, but you could take the Mix Out (effect loop point between the mixer and the filter) and boost the level externally, then inject the signal back into the Voyager through either the loop input or the External In.

The external boost could be provided from any device that imparts gain to the signal - an EQ, preamp, or effects processor would probably work.

Although overdriving the filter shouldn't cause any problems (filter overdrive is an effect unto itself) you should use care when applying external signals of any kind. Start at a lowered volume and bring the signal gain up slowly.

Have fun!

It's not the filters at the heart of this. I'm using high and low to get a band-pass for white noise windy / whooshy sounds.

The problem is for live. I'll just have to tweak the gain on my mixer, or program up an in-line fx box to give me extra gain on that patch (using program change to switch the FX program or something).
