Question of the Canadian T3 owners...

I'm curious what you're paying for them, but only if you've ordered them from a local music store, not from Moog or a US online music shop. (I know we're getting 40 shipped here in the first batch and mine is #33 of those 40.)
Anyways, my question is this - my music store's supplier (SF Marketing I believe) is charging $2500.00Cdn. for them. Are they totally out to lunch on this? I mean, Moog is charging $1995.00 for them directly, which works out to $2,108.00Cdn. with the exchange. Why the $400 difference?

Something seems less than correct here...

Here in Montreal it's 2500CAD$ street price also.

i would say with shipping, import duty and a not huge mark up that's probably about right. What i find more disturbing is that there are 40 units to be made for one shop before i even get a sniff. Oh well, so much for 'early' adopting.

I guess that makes sense, but then that means the case will be like $800+ then... I think I'll have one made locally after mine arrives.

Still, I ordered mine very early on and I never got the discount... which likely means the distributor is pocketing that also. Such is the price you pay when you can't pay the entire $2000 at once I guess...

That's what i'm doing. The cost of the case plus duty would have been silly, so i'm getting one locally made.

Well if you ordered early on you would have only had to put down $500 - if you ordered direct from Moog.

I haven't gotten my T3's yet, but I did get in on the pre-order discount, direct from Moog. I opted not to get the case, because I can probably get one custom made locally without having to pay for currency conversion, shipping, and duty.

I don't know how much shipping and customs charges will cost, but I'll post it up here when I do. When other Canadians get their T3's, can they post the cost of the shipping/duty fees, etc. so we can have a reliable way of comparing what we can expect to pay?

Yes, the music store I ordered mine at confirmed that most of that extra $400 was for customs, duty, etc. So there it unfortunately is... buying from your local Canadian music shop will cost you $2500Cdn. (Unless you go to the US for a holiday for like a week and pick it up down there at a parcel drop, then customs/duty won't be nearly as much.) :p

Now that my set is due to arrive any day, perhaps I need to think about an amp...

I just talk with someone at the customs-borders agency, if the instrument is made in the USA, I only have to pay GST and QST here in Quebec. So it's about 14% in taxs plus shipping. My T3 is scheduled to be shipped in 2 weeks (from what moog told me yesterday).

Has anyone else gotten an approximate arrival date from your music store?
First they said early February, then end of February, now it's the end of March.
Merely curious...

I paid $224 for customs fees, and I live in Toronto.

I just got a call from the music store yesterday afternoon... mine are due to arrive this Thursday!!!
And I've also been quoted a new price - $2250 instead of $2600... I can live with that. :D

I hope anyone within a 3-5 block radius of me has their insurance paid up...
