Korg Triton ARPs into Voyager?

Hi. I was wondering if it were possible to use the ARP patterns on my Korg to drive the sound of my Voyager. What I mean is, will the ARP be able to "play" the Voyager for me while I tweak its front panel settings? I'm guessing the sound will still be monophonic but it can play mutliple notes as long as they're not playing at the same time right? Also, if this is possible, how would I go about connecting the two? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

does the Triton send its arpeggio patterns via MIDI? If so, then just plug in the cable and you're off.

Multiple notes not playing at the same pitch? Huh? The Voyager is not going to play chords but there's a workaround: If the arpeggio patterns can be sent through MIDI then you might want to sample that arpeggio from the Voyager back to the Triton. Then choose another pattern and play the two in synchronization.

Of course you can use a MIDI to CV converter and trigger the Voyager directly.

I hope this helps.

Hmm, could I connect a 1/4 out of the Triton into the Voyager CV Input?

Why not? that would be used for triggering though. Each time audio comes in it would trigger the Voyager's envelopes.

I see. Then how would I get the Korg's ARPs to trigger notes on the Voyager?

I have found that a number of synthesizers do not output their aperggios as midi signal. Korgs are among these. MyKorg MS 2000 does not output arpeggios to my Voyager or any other synth for that matter. Other types of midi triggers are another matter . However both my Roland V-Synth and Yamaha EX5 do trigger arps on the Voyager immediately...
So check out the Korg on another midi instrument to test if this is true for you too.
Then check with Korg and fing out why.

I use my Triton Studio's arpeggiator to control my MMV. It works great. Just set both devices to the same MIDI channel and make sure "Local On" is selected.
