Aftertouch information needed

Ok hope this question has not been asked before.I've tried the search function but could not find a clear response to my problem...

To make things clear I bought a Voyager like 5 months ago (Yessssssss !) it came with the 3.4 sofware (I've recently updated to the 3.5).
But it seems that the aftertouch is not working.
I set the Shaping on Pressure on the mod bus, set the amount to the maximum (or midway) play on the voyager keyboard and....nothing
So I've tried with my sequencer to send Aftertouch Midi CC to the voyager, draw a curve in my sequencer and...it works perfectly ! ! ! ? ? ?
So is the voyager keyboard faulty ?
Thanks

Are you setting this on the modWheel bus or the pedal bus? If you are using the wheel bus you need to increase the amount of modulation by raising the mod wheel. On the pedal bus it should work alone as long as nothing is plugged into the modPedal input.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your response Theglyth.
But yes I've tried on both and as I said when I control the aftertouch with midi CC, it works.
So I think something is wrong with my keyboard
And for what I understood the older version of the voyager have the aftertouch on or off with almost no in between but I bought mine not long ago and I have no aftertouch at all !

You might try taking a look at the left=hand controller. The aftertouch is wired through a ribbon connector that is held in place with RTV silicone. It's possible that the ribbon became disconnected from it's connector.

Be very careful when dismantling the LH controller. The ribbon is kinda fragile. Also, I had to reach around the back of the chassis and jiggle the ribbon cable that feeds the controller in order to get the controller to where I could work on it.

If you pull out the two screws at the bottom of the controller and pull the wood block out you can see the connections without lifting the controller.

Try some midi monitor to check if the keyboard is sending aftertouch data.
The old version really needed to pressed hard to get a result at all.

Glad it worked out. I just replaced the LHC on my EB last week and did the hardware upgrade too.

If you don't have RTV on those connections it's recommended, especially if you move your Voyager around a lot.

Thanks for the tip C7sus...you're right looks like those connections are easily disconnected by moving the Voyager (and voyagers move alot....) ;-)
