Theremin pitch calibration?

A few months ago, the theremin was able to be tuned to a normal pitch range with a few octaves spanning a few feet in distance.
After about a month, I've tried playing the theremin but something weird has happened. The pitch range control has shifted so that when the knob is all the way counterclockwise, all the octaves are within 3-4 inches. If I adjust the knob the other way, the pitch becomes backwards (if I move my hand away the frequency increases).

What could have caused this and what can I do to restore the pitch range? I'd like to compose music for theremin later this semester so any advice would be helpful!

The manual will tell you how to calibrate the theremin. You can download it from the Moog website.

I have had a look in the manual for this - but couldn't determine what I exactly have to do. Could someone elaborate some more? All my octaves are within 2-3 inches.

Thanks,
FJ

Amos Gaynes from moog music inc. has written very good and better understandable instructions here: http://www.moogmusic.com/forum/viewtopi ... ume#p60920

If you're based in Europe you may contact me via my website http://theremin.tfrenkel.com for further assistance.
