Backlit wheels...

I purchased the standard Performer as I thought it looked more like the original than the black AE. The only problem I have with it's appearance are my white wheels, I know you can buy the blue backlit wheels seperately but how do you fit them? I'm by no means an electrician/engineer/mechanic...

Cheers

Hi!

If you want to keep it as close to a Mode D then you should not install backlit wheels. :)

Hey Rockwell

I personally think the Performer Edition looks better with the “real” walnut wood but the Anniversary Edition looks cooler with the backlit panel. Why didn’t Moog produce the AE with walnut wood instead of black? :( I don’t care if it doesn’t look like a vintage Moog, only a vintage Moog looks vintage.

Where to buy backlit wheels:
http://www.turnkey.co.uk (United Kingdom should have them)

http://www.emc-de.com/ (I bought my AE from EMC. I got it faster and cheaper then if I would have bought a Performer Edition in Sweden. I love the European Union!!) :P

Send an email to Moogmusic and ask if it is hard to install the backlit wheels. Personally I don’t think it should be that hard… If you know how to disassembly the mod wheel section I think it is just to replace and connect the cable to the backlit power supply. I do think you have to calibrate the new wheels somehow…
