My EP-2 has worked well for the past couple months, but its begin to have trouble staying all the way down. Everytime I push the heal down all the way it depresses to the correct pitch, but as I let go it goes up a few cents. I've considered taking the felt piece off of the heal side, but Im not sure if this will solve my problem. Has anyone had any similar problems? Any help would be greatly appretiated. Thanks.

Perhaps the screw on the lever thingie needs to be tightened a bit? Sometimes those set screws work themselves loose. That would be my first inspection point...

If you mean the screw on the side of the pedal from where it pivots, that one seems like its on there snug. I also tried tightening the screws on the bottom in vain. Thanks though. It seems like its just cushy when I reach the the stopping point in the heal, it'll go to the bottom fine, but theres some extra give when you press a bit harder and hence the pitch isn't exactly right and it makes it next to impossible to perform with it as a pitch controller because its a few cents away unless you put lots of pressure on the heal.

In that case, I'm all out of ideas...unless the pot itself has worked its way loose...it won't hurt to open it up to see if that's the case.

It might be that you need to tweak the master tuning on the synth when you plug the pedal into the pitch jack. Do it when the heel is down all the way. Then try to use the same amount of heel pressure each time, so the synth stays in tune.
Just a thought.

This has happened to my pedal too. It usually doesn't want to stay down all the way. Not a big deal for small scale changes but for controlling pitch it bad. Sometimes when I take my foot off it goes really far up which is terrible. I don't use the pedal too often. but when I do it's really frustrating that it won't function properly. I wonder if you can tighten the tension if you open it up?
