VX 351 Tips??

I just received my VX 351. Does anyone out there have experience with the 351/voyager combo yet? Any tips for a new user?

The most fun I've had with the VX is plugging the LFO out (both square and saw) into the mult, then taking the mult and plugging one cable into each ear. Make sure the cables achieve an affirmative 'click' before waiting for anything to happen. Feel free to utilise the attenuators if you find the results to painful.
My suggestion for an improvement on the VX? Make the connector cable black so it matches the Voya better than computer beige. Its so unbecoming, even in its own military surplus vintage way!

I don't think a VX351 is of much use if you only plan on using it with the MMV. It's main use is to allow you to fully interface the MMV with other synths/fx that respond to CVs. I use mine mainly to sending cvs from the MMV to my modular synth. I sometimes send the MMV's oscillator mix to different filters in my modular. I then use the MMV's envelopes to control both the filter and the mod's VCA. The pad is great for controlling multiple parameters in a complex patch (I use a lot of multis!). Mine is currently set up so that the X axis controls the fade between two different low pass filters, the Y axis controls cutoff for both while area adds a bit of filter fm.
Another fun use is to control a moogerfooger with the MMV. It's really nice to be able to sync the MMV's LFO with the sweep of the mf103.
However, if you want to just use the Voyager with the VX351, you can try routing velocity or pressure (or both via a multi) to filter cutoff. This way you don't have to use up either of the mod busses which can then be saved for more complex modulations.

...and then, wherever you order from, make a note on your order to specify that it has to be black, or they may try to slip you a beige one!

Personally, the VX is REALLY great - even just by itself. Patching the X/Y/A
from the touchpad to the Voyager is VERY cool - yes; this can be programmed,
but I've found the interface of plugs and cables to be faster and useful to
feed into the S/Hold of the CP251. WITH the CP box, you can control amounts -
which alone is VERY useful and I alos love ANY Random things - I could use 4 of
them on ANY patch to make it slightly more organic and fun (Filter, pulse
width, pitch detuning, etc)
