Sysex receiving problems with my Voyager...

Hi!

I have problems receiving my sound patches i have made with the Voyager.
I'm working on a macPro (10.5.8) with Logic 9 and an emagic unitor mk2 midi interface (fw. 2.04).
Sending a sysex message with the Voyager works - Logic receives the data, i can see a moog branded sysex string.
Sending back is working too, because the midi light of the Voyager is flashing, while running the sequencer or the send mode! ...but the sound in the voyager isn't updating to the sound i've sent. hmmm... :(
I have the same problem using "sysex librarian".
There s no sysex filter enabled! and the voyagers sysex is enabled too.
Send/Receive and updating the moog is working with the latest Voyager Editor Librarian V3.4 Software.
I have bought the Editor software, because it's great for saving a library of the sounds, but not for saving one preset with a song i've made.

Sending/receiving the "panel sound" as sysex data to "sysex librarian"/Logic 9 to my Voyager WORKS!! this string has only 149bytes but the non-working "preset sound" 154bytes... that s strange too...

what is the difference between sending sysex with the moog librarian software and "sysex librarian"/Logic 9 ????

thanks for your help! :)

same here... sysex librarian receives and sends but my Voyager won't recognize the program (sysex is enabled and the midi lamp definitely confirms incoming sysex).

Is it possible to send me the non working sysex file to my email address?

Seems identical to my sysex issues with LOGIC Express 7 and the Voyager.

A 149-byte message can be trasmitted by 'send panel sound', but voyager reception of it is very erratic. What is going on?

Did anything come of you inspecting the .syx file?

Help appreciated.
Thanks
Matthew

What does it mean "erratic"?
Please send the panel syx. file to rudi at moogmusic dot de

Thanks Rudi,
I've emailed you the syx file

To be clear, the voyager MIDI light goes on when I send the syx file from sysex librarian, but no change happens. It is sysex enabled.

Aufwiederhoren!

Hi, did you get those 154-byte ones to work?

I´m asking because I just noticed that all my back-up presets are 154-bytes too.
Of course I could just try and send one of those 154-bytes to V-Ger and see do they work. But I am now middle of the recording session and too scared to try anything that could mess something.

I have sent 149-byte patches to Voyager (osc2 & osc3 5th calib.syx) from Sysex Librarian via RME Fireface 800 and they are working OK.

Maybe I should try to backing up with a different midi interface.

Thanks

SysEx transfers are without any problems when your MIDI interface has own drivers for Windows. I have no MAC so I can't say how it works on these computers.
But you should make sure the SysEx Device ID of the Voyager is the same as the ID of the stored file.
Have fun,

Bump. Is this solved?
I Have this same problem here. The (149Byte) panel sounds can be sent and recieved fine and the (154 byte) preset sounds cannot be received by the voyager. Neither with logic nor sysex Librarian. The midi light flashes but nothings changes. I'm on a mac.
Anyone?

Hi M-Prod,
I'm pretty sure everthing is fine cause many users have no problems with the SysEx transfer.
Example: save preset "1" to your computer, change the name or the sound of the preset "1" on your Voyager.
Then store the changes on the same preset location "1".
Then send the stored preset "1" SysEx file to your Voyager, press ENTER or select preset "1" if it's not on preset "1" position and the stored preset should be there.
Have fun,
Rudi
