MP-201 "preset-like"

Hey...

I'd like to hear how people are using their MP-201 for "preset-like" controls on their Moogerfoogers (especially the MuRF) and LP.

Specifically, can changing preset banks on the MP-201 automatically send a message via midi or other means to the LP to change patches? Also, does changing the banks on the MP-201 automatically "snap" the values for connected MuRF parameters (i.e. rate, envelope, mix, etc..)

I'm itching to buy this pedal and I'd like to hear from owners...thanks.

Hey, i've own the MP for a few months now and i can tell you that it's a great tool. I use it with my LP, MF 101, MF 102, MF 105B, CP-251 and a Roland Juno G. To answer your questions each preset on the MP has 4 channels and you can send a program change message on each channel, that means that you can send up to 4 program change messages, i use it to change patches simultaneously in my LP and in my Juno G, works great, just set the right midi channel for each synth and you're done.

About the moogerfoogers there's a lot of possibilities to set the MP so you can get 4 LFO's or 4 expression pedals or 4 gate signals or you can mix them in any way you need (e.g. 1 LFO, 2 expressions, 1 gate, etc.). Plus you can set each channel with an initial value so the preset snap like you said it... i suggest you take a look at the manual to get even more info, i highly recommend the MP it's a great tool for live use mainly.

Hpo this helps a bit, cheers

Thanks patobrujo..that helps alot. I didn't realize you could send multiple patch change signals simultaneously on different midi channels. I haven't used midi beyond the most basic of setups, but it sounds like I could change the patch on my LP and simultaneously change tracks or sessions in Ableton live session. Awesome.
Thanks again.
