switched on

hi all,

this may appear a silly question but can the lp become damaged if its left on for a long duration? the reason i ask is that i was using its earlier today and something came up that i had to suddenly leave, resulting in that i left the LP switched on accidentally for about 9 hours.

i'm 99% that leaving it switched on wouldn't damage it, as it was producing a sweet tone when i pressed the keys! ;)

Thanks

Andrew

p.s. as you may have noticed from my previous posts, i'm a over protective lp fan!

This has been asked before. The answer is, no damage will come to the LP if left on for an extended period. But expect a slightly higher electric bill.

thanks for the info...Is the oppisite true? I mean, not like this happens but, if you turn the LP on and off in a short period of time, is that bad. Not the same, but my tube guitar amp needs a minute to warm up, is anything going on like that in my LP?

The LP takes roughly 20-45 minutes to warm up. Turning it off after five minutes shouldn't cause harm I wouldn't think. Anyone else care to chime i on this? :?

Thanks for the info, I know it takes a while before warm up, to be honest not sure i've played it for less than two hours at a time, but this post got me thinking
