Hey guys
In the last few months I've been getting into the moogerfooger world, which i absolutely love! Im running the MF101, MF105, and soon MF103 on a guitar rig including some various other pedals and a Vox AC50 w/effects loop. I love all of the CV aspects of moog, and im curious which would benefit more for my situation, the MP201 or CP251?
I play in a rock/reggae/hip hop band, so it would be really awesome to have the "preset" aspect of the MP201, but the ability to make super crazy sounds with the CP251 would be awesome too. IM STUCK!

I've had both, but don't own either at the moment. Personally, I prefer being able to recall presets, having tap tempo, being able to sync to a MIDI clock, and cutting down on the number of patch cables needed. That said, I did miss having the lag processor in the CP-251.
The CP-251 is more of an instrument. You have easy access to all of the knobs and can tweak things on the fly. The MP-201 is less immediate, but more consistent and repeatable.
If I were buying again, I'd go with the MP-201 and hope that Moog is putting some R&D into implementing some features that would make it more flexible (mixing of CVs, lag processing, etc.).

Bryan T has is right, the CP-251 is like adding on something new, while the MP-201 allows specific repeated results.
I bought MOOG equipment to keep it analog, even the memory is analog, my own. The simple fact that I cannot get it exactly the same every time lets the music breathe and keeps my mind open. There are no mistakes, and jamming is about the moment.
That said, the MP-201 makes it easier to sync, which in itself is a pretty major advantage... especially when tracking or leading the tempo.
I will own a MP-201 soon I'm sure, but only to be able to tap tempo the delay

Yeah, i just got a Skreddy Echo (AWESOME) and I'm using my Nova Delay as well so really unless I'm working with my DAW I'll probably grab me a CP251. It would be cool to have some preset things for the MuRF and phaser though... Ill pick up MOTU Volta for that.

I hope that'll be implemented at some point.
