MP-201 firmware in active development! Please read

Hello Moog folks,

I am happy to announce that I am now actively working on programming improvements to the Multi-Pedal firmware.

Already I have added Quad Mono mode (switch instantly between any one channel being active at a time with a single stomp), and a few other nice features.

Currently completed or in the works:

"default mode" lets you choose to start up in Quad Mode or Single Mode, whichever you prefer to use.

Quad mode Mono or Poly, as described previously

Gates can now send MIDI notes and/or CCs

can toggle channels on/off remotely via MIDI CC

option to send bank/patch change messages per channel one at a time in Quad Mode (a Moog forum request!)

definitely some other stuff I'm forgetting also, since it's the weekend over here...

My question is, what would you most like to see added at this point? This is the moment to ask, as we are keen to deliver an update As Soon As Possible.

Let me know, thanks!

-Amos

...Ability to send and receive high-resolution 14-bit Midi CC messages like the LP. I can't imagine not having this on a device designed to convert CC to CV.

I would love for some linear CV scale patterns to be added, so that they could be scaled to play the FB and RM oscillators. That would really expand the usefulness of the MF series.

Beyond how cool it would be just to have a single sequence to send to them, I imagine having 2 to 4 of the outputs of the 201 each sending a different scale in say G, those outputs going into a mixer, and adjusting the mix before going to the frequency input, for endless possibilities.

Yes!! Im usually tied to an exp pedal/filter when using the Freqbox, so something like this would be very useful. To take it a bit further, lately I have been thinking about other midi/cv converters for the possibility of 'drawing' out the automation for (in my case) specific bass lines, so it will automatically adjust the frequency as I move up or down the neck (i just have to play to it). I play to Ableton, so Im thinking I might be able to program the freqbox frequency automation in sections for each 8 to 16 bar loops that I shuffle through while playing bass. But hot damn, if the MP201 could this...!.. though this could be completely naive of me and maybe someone will correct me about this even being remotely possible, with any unit..

Im still just brainstorming and haven't looked into the different units to see if this is even possible yet, but Im sure this has to have been thought of/done before. This would also be great for getting some crazy wobbly lfo's for my filters... and all kinds of fun stuff!

I would love to see a librarian editor for 'drawing' out the lfo's on a computer, and then loading them into the MP201's presets... I might be dreaming though.

A glide between tap tempos would be nice, and potentially control over the duration of the glide, potentially via the exp pedal - ie Leslie speaker rotation speed changes.

Hi Amos,

Any idea on when we should expect the new firmware?

Thanks! Paul

I'd love to see a super slow LFO - cycling way slower than that of the phaser. Ridiculously slow!

How about a software for programing MP-201.
