Sequencing issue: volume changes

Hopefully this is the right place to post this since it applies to both the Voyager and Little Phatty. When I locate to the beginning of a song I have recorded, the volume on both instruments defaults back to 100 percent. This happens even though I have saved the song with lower settings. The volume on the sequencer will still say 30 percent but as soon as I restart the song or loop to the beginning the synths will play at 100 percent volume. This happens with both keyboard sequencers I use. I assumed it to be caused by the sequencers, but my Roland V-Synth stays unaffected. I have midi program change off on both the Voyager and the Little Phatty but didn't really see this as the cause anyway. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing? I appreciate any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong.

The only way to do this is to turn off the MIDI volume...the problem is....this is not possible on a Voyager...don't know for a Phatty.
We also need to now which sequencer you are using....guess it sends a reset to all instruments so it sets the MIDI volume to 100...and the Roland could have is MIDI Volume already off.

Program change has nothing to do with this.
The program change could be resetting the volume back. You should try removing the program change temporarily (don't save the sequence) and see if it resets the volume, or put in a CC #7 controller messsage after the program change but a quarter note or more gap between them.

Thanks for the replys. It does seem to be a CC problem. I am using a Korg M3 and/or an Alesis Fusion to sequence. For now I have just shut off CCs on the global level. This shuts off all controllers including the mod wheel but I can live with that until I track down the specific adjustment.
In the process of all of this I've noticed some quirky behaviour with the Little Phatty. At one point it started sounding notes on key up as well as down. Shutting down eliminated the behaviour but then it decided not to recieve midi data at all. Strange.
Anyway thanks for the help. Both these synths sound fantastic. I'm still doing a lot of exploring/sound creation and hope to post some examples eventually.

MIDI gear can be so frustrating, I find that usually everything works except for one small thing
Korg sequencers send reset messages when you loop back to the beginning and maybe just playing from the beginning as well. Sorry, I don't see how you can fix it.
Cheers,

You are right about midi gear. I guess it's a price worth paying to have a bunch of stuff from different manufacturers. The past 10 years or more I used Roland workstations to sequence when I did sequence. Still learning the Korg way of things. I had a Triton for a while but couldn't click with it. Roland is notorious for having the one (or more) small thing that doesn't work the way you think it would. For now I'm recording with all controllers turned off on the Korg. It isn't too big of a deal and is definitely preferable to having my ears blasted when the volume resets. I'm very glad I bought the Voyager RME and Little Phatty. I've already invested a lot of hours in tweaking sounds and enjoy every minute of it.
