i just got a voyager select and had a lp
i was wondering of a good keyboard stand to put the both on

and also a good sequencer to use with them?

How much do you want to spend on a sequencer?
Do you perfer MIDI or analog?

Same for the stand. If you want to stay within 50-100 bucks, a good QuikLok bi-level double X-stand would be the absolute MINIMUM you could get away with. If you don't mind spending $100 or more for a stand, go with the Apex. As for a sequencer, check out Synthesizers.com for CV sequencers. You say you HAD an LP, but you want a stand for both your Voyager and LP, which you no longer have?

Right now Im using a Proline PL 402 2 Tier X Stand from guitar center. 100 bucks. On the store they had 2 88 key roland Fantoms on it...Its supposed to hold 300 lbs, 150 on the top tier I think.



I have the Voyager on the Bottom and a Micro on the top. It has held the Voyager on the top with an 88 key Roland RD-500 on it so its pretty sturdy.


It has a lever that will release the stopper so it will fold up. I don't think it would collapse without pulling that lever.

i got this one from musicians friend for $100 to hold my LP and voyager oldschool.


its rock solid....doesnt move at all and is pretty adjustable. i like the z stands better than the x too.

i would go with a slightly more expensive stand if it means stability (especially with that expensive moog stuff resting on it).

oh, and for a sequencer:

i cant recommend enough the Numerology sequencer ( www.five12.com )

i hate being tied to a computer, but i bought a $200 mac mini specifically to run this program. i love this sequencer, you are able to do some really complex stuff with it. i love being able to module the length of the sequence with another step sequencer running at 1/4 speed.

lanxe, that's some serious DIY stuff there! How long did that take to build the MFOS system?

i just got a rhodes to be my stand for my voyager, although that is the more expensive route for a stand. if i had the LP as well, I would probably look for a combo organ like the vox continental for a stand. i am an avid supporter of using more keys as the keyboard stand.

Its not even a fair competition... Hercules two-tier Z-stand is as stable as a house. I have two.

i have been meaning to do a video, but every time i get going i just start fiddling away and never get to anything too good. i can do a "functionality" video though.

Voltor, the MFOS stuff is easy to build, but the wiring takes me forever and it never turns out too neat. thats another reason i like the CGS programmer/sequencer better.....its all PCB with some minor linking of the pcbs. but the problem with the cgs, is that its a pre-defined panel spacing (serge style).

I built the MFOS sequencer with a temporary front panel, and it worked awesome. then i made this really nice front panel and when i transferred the panel components, it started acting funny (skipping steps, only trigger out, no gate out). So its been sitting in a box for a year in this condition (see picture below). i would sell it to anybody for $100 if they want to thake a shot at it. the front panel alone is worth the money plus you get all of the components and those sweet aluminum knobs (you just may want to rewire it?). sorry for the spam email at bocookdot7 {AT} yahoo.com
