I got the e-mail today saying my Maple/Jade Voyager Select, VX-351,CP-251 and EP-2 Expression pedal have shipped,YAY!!!
So while I wait ,here is my story....(as if anyone cares hahaha)
This is the fulfillment of a dream that started many years ago.I remember hearing the synth solo after the big organ part towards the end of Yes-Close to the edge( around the 14 minute mark....and yes i did that off the top of my head,hahaha im sad) and I was blown away by the sound I heard.Soon after I found a copy of Switched on Bach. I listened to both Prelude and Fugue #2 in C Minor and Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major: II-Adagio till my ears bled.My interest in electronic music and sound had begun.
...And now for the sad part of the story,Many years ago I came across a Moog Soure.While not the Mini or the Modular Moog I had always wanted, I thought it would do.My 1st Moog
......and about 3 hours later one of the membrane buttons stuck, the number display garbled and bam!! dream over
. The synth was dead.I took it to my local guys and they tried many times to repair it. With many parts unavailable at that time,they tried everything but in the end I had to put my Moog dream on hold.
During that time I aquired many synths ( well actually many instruments in general as I am a multi instrumentalist).Some of them I loved(Korg polysix,Roland JD990) and some...well not so much(Yamaha DX7,Roland mt-32) but I knew that was something still missing......... until now!!!!!
Now I just have to decided if I want to put the Voyager on my Hammond M3 or give it its own stand to sit like a peice of art on an easel (interactive art of course cause this babys gonna running night and day with me fiddling about......fiddle about...fiddle about...(yes, a Who reference
))
