Does anyone know if this is possible, I've been making some new sounds from edits of presets and wanted to save them in an empty slot in another bank but couldn't seem to find a way

Can't see anything in the V3.0 update either

Just save them it to a different slot, as you would any other patch.

In the .pdf version of the manual, the instructions for naming your new preset are on page 57, and the instructions for saving the patch are on page 58. In the printed manual, both sets of instructions are on page 48, and the diagram showing what letters and numbers are on which keys, is on page 50.

Setting the preset name is option 6.3 under the Edit menu, and saving the patch is option 6.4 under the Edit menu.

Quick tip: Pressing and holding the Cursor button while pressing the up or down button will allow you to scroll to whatever bank (A - G) you wish to save the patch to, and releasing the Cursor button and then pressing the up or down button will allow you to scroll to whatever memory slot (1 - 128) within the bank, you wish to save the patch.

Empty slots are in bank G, starting at slot 66.

I tried to do this but couldn't seem to get the bank to change whilst I was in the Save menu, but I'll have another go later

THeres also another way that you can do it.

Lets say you are on bank A 1 and you have tweaked that preset out to something totally different and you want to save it to bank G 70.

WHen you go to Save Preset, it will take you to a window that will let you select where. It will read "Default Preset" or something like that or it will read the name of the preset in A1. Notice at the top there is a line under the bank and the preset number. You can use the cursur keys to scroll to the bank number and change it and you can also use the cursur key to select the new destination (in this example g 70). So bank A1 stays like its originally programmed and your new preset is on bank G70.

You have to be careful though because if you get to going too fast you will change the preset to a different setting and wipe your changes. Ive accidentally reqritten over g 128 a few times when trying to save a preset.

A good tip is to name your preset as soon as you save it. I had several presets named "Default Preset" or whatever and thats why I got in a bind. I had to rememer which ones were not being used and which ones I had edidted.

There's a few other ways:

Use the Sound Tower editor software.
Load the patch into the Compare Preset buffer.

Well, I still unable to do this, when I'm in the Save Preset screen, the Cursor button has no effect, so I can't change bank or move the cursor round

After much messing around I 've manged to work out how to get a preset into the compare buffer, change bank then reload the compare sound and save it in the new bank, but this seems a very fiddly way to do it

I wondered if the reason I can't do it the easy way is because my Voyager's OS is only at V3.0

Finally found the 3.4 addendum (in the Select files tab) and can't see anything in it to indicate any change that would allow me to save a preset in another bank

I am quite perplexed

Here's one procedure:
1. After making a patch, hit the Edit button and use the up/down arrow buttons (last two on the right under the LCD screen) to select "Save Preset."

2. Hit the Enter button

3. Hit the Arrow buttons to select where on the bank you want to save the patch to. The destination is on the top right of the LCD screen. You can also move the External pot in the mixing section to fast forward to a patch. (Make sure the rocker switch is OFF.) If you wish to change banks hold down the cursor button while pushing the arrow buttons.

4. Once you have found a destination hit the Enter key. It will ask you Yes or No. You can hit the Cursor key to make your decision.

5. Hit Enter. You have saved the patch.

Then comes the task of naming the preset. Once you do that, you have to save it again.

Hi Mark, I've already tried the process you describe and holding the cursor down doesn't do anything, I'm going to try updating to 3.4 and see if that helps.

Out of interest what version are you on?

I'm on v3.3.

Sound like you don't have the memory expansion board...so only 1 bank on your voyager for the sounds to save to.

Do all the buttons work when not trying to save a preset? If so, I am wondering if reloading the OS would help or not. I am certainly no tech. Try getting in touch with tech support directly. It is possible they have seen this issue before and know how to approach it.

The buttons work normally elsewhere, at least as far as I can tell

I'll try the uprade at the weekend and see if that helps, if not I'll get onto tech support

The Voyager has ousted my old Korg Mono/Poly and Studio Electronics SE-1 so it will be used for roughly the same sort of things, drones, sequences, leads, effects etc

The Voyager's memory will come in handy for live stuff and the touchpad is nice too

You may have to use the cursor several times till the litte underline cursor indicator is set under the bank name. No need to press two buttons at the same time here !!!!
