MP-201 MIDI Gate display glitch?

Hi All,
I was noticing that the MP-201 channels when set to Gate mode output MIDI value 127 when On and 0 for Off, but the display shows On=127 (good) but Off=64 (?)
This makes sense for the CV values of +5v/0v even when CV Scale is set to Bipolor, but originally was disconcerting as I thought that the MIDI gate output wouldn't change state for my equipment that needs to see 0-63 for "Off" (example, CC#65 for portamento ON on my Model D with LMC MIDI kit.)
Additionally, how often should one have to calibrate the footpedal response? Is it temperature compensated?
Thank you,
