MP 201 crashes :-/

hi guys,
Yesterday during the rehearsal i´ve got a kind of "blue screen / white screen" with my mp-201

the display was only lightend, but without any Information or function. A reboot didn´t help.
the mp201 was conected via usb to my apple powerbook, and the 201 was in the quad mode.
i´ve disconnected the usb and restarted the mac and the mp201 again. nothing happens. after 10 minutes the mp201 started again with full display, but the mp201 midi-driver wasn´t found on my powerbook from now on.
it takes again 3 reboots to get everything in fully working order :-/
i´m wondering if the os of the mp201 is ready for live use???
any thoughts?

Hi dkdent,
didn´t experience any troubles so far with my MP 201. Maybe you should contact Stefan Hund from the german distributor EMC, if this appears again. I´m sure Stefan will be able to help or care for help for you.
P.S.: I like your music, especially your really cooool looking CDX. Looks like the desk of Mr. Sulu from startrek.

Hi guys
there are some bugs in the usb-code of the MP-201 OS;
I'm sorry for this, and I can say that these bugs are already fixed in the current (in-progress) firmware build.
We are working hard to get a releasable update as soon as possible,
and I think it is safe to say that this is much improved.
There should be a number of additional improvements also,
all intended to make the MP-201 optimal for live performance.
Again, many apologies for the early trouble!
Kind regards,
Amos
I'll keep you posted on the firmware development progress.

Thanks Amos,
Will we have to end up sending in our MP-201s? (Mine ceased to be recognized via USB on the Mac or the PC.)
Thanks,

In theory you should be able to update the firmware via MIDI (standard MIDI jacks) as long as MIDI is still being recognized... in your specific case, if this doesn't work then you could certainly send it in for the update, no problem.
This is in development now; not sure when the release will be but I will keep you all posted.
Cheers,
Amos

hi guys,
i can report, that this failure occured only once. the gig was without trouble. i used the mp201 in quad mode with 2 controller outs, one midi triggered gate out and a midi synched LFO. everything was fine!

i´m looking to forward to get an firmware update, and maybe a solution for syncing the mf104z. this should a reason to buy my missing moogerfooger link
