FX Pedals with the LP

Hi,
Unsure if this is the place for this question but you dont know unless you ask. I live in the ass end of Western Australia, and with the crap Aus $ against the US$ my first idea of purchase for Xmas has been blown out. I thought I would get the CP-251 to control other CV gear, as I just missed out on the free offer, but I was shockd to find them priced at $649.00. And that just too much for me at the moment
So my question is what to get myself to go with the LP. (I know life is hard isn't it.) I already have a Moog freq Box, and was very plesently pleased with Boss Space echo Pedal RE-20 working with the LP for dealy & verb FX.
I have been looking at the boss SL-20 Slicer pedal, and have played with it on guitar and I am thinking it would be great to have in the chain with the LP.
I understand if this is a Moog only club but interested in seeing what pedals people have warmed to with the LP sound. Metasonix, Death By Audio, Devi, line 6, etc.
All the best E.N

Welcome !
As we say on the coast-"Whatever floats your boat !!" I think you'll find that folks here will try about any idea that pops up, any combination of things as long as you have enough patch cords .
I have used:
a homebrew phaser, a Memory-man deluxe for delay, a Korg Kaoss 3,and a Fatcontroller sequencer. (made in Au.)
I can think of all sorts of things I'd like to ~try~, but the $$$.
Good luck!!!

You shoudl be able to get a free CP251 until the end of the year. I don't know if certian restrictions apply.
Naw this ain't no Moog only club. You woudl be suprised the number of people here who like to mix and match Oscillators from here with filters from there.
You want an interesting filter pedal to go with your freq box (that also has an envelope follower circuit in it) is an Electro Harmonix Bass Balls pedal. THey sound great as a hybrid synth.
Anythying can work. Any kind of distortion, or delay will do. Theres so much out there its hard to make a reccomendation. A Good Wah pedal won't hurt either and Im sure you can get those all day long there.
I could go on and on but its just a matter of what you want and what you are willing to pay for.
Moog stuff goes together like Hydrogen and Oxygen and the goodness flows all day long.

I like Danelectro pedals myself. Fab Tone for distortion, Dan-O-Wah as either a filter or wah, and don't forget their new line of stuff as well! They can be hard to find, though. I buy mine used for 20-30 dollars, yours are going to be a bit more, though.

cheers

Cheers for your tips. Yea so much to try, with such limited budget. I think I have convinced myself to get the boss-SL20 just because I was so happy with the new space echo pedal. I brought it as a little of an impulse buy! OK it was a complete impulse buy, but we all had them. I had it on an AUX send at home, but was not that happy with it setup like this. So I designated it to the LP, and am well happy.
The Sherman filter bank has always been a great FX in my set up also, I cant recommend it enough, sound great on anything. Where as something like the devi Bit Mangler I brought for it bit crush feature, and distortion on my elektron and it sounded like bleep. not nice distortion or crush, although on Guitar sound f##king great. Horses for Courses.
Hence my question on the SL-20, yet I feel you really need to take the chance sometimes dont you. Listen to me, I have already convinced myself, and I will let you know what I think of the setup with the LP
As for the free CP-251, it is only between the Nov 14th & Dec 31st. Oh well I am sure I will pick one up when the $$ picks up.
Again thanks for your input, all the best E.N

OK, I bit the bullet and got the pedal SL-20, and seems to work very well with the LP. Creates a nice groovesto build on, that you can sample and the layer over your loop. Miinites after having it pluged in the moog we had a new jam session happening. The Midi seems to clock everything to the over all BPM, and you could not change the note value which is a shame, but tap tempo is good and constant. All up the Boss SL-20 is really good, and no I dont work for the company. Altough it does have a flashing light for the tempo that flashes red & gree. Very Christmas-like.

Anything that has flashing lights is alright in my book!

Usually I only use a delay and a spring reverb on the Phatty, but I tried something different today.
Phatty -> Crybaby Wah -> Big Muff -> Small Stone -> Dynacord Tape echo.
Try it with a Minimoog-style Rezy bass and you'll see : funk at its best.

Awesomeness! The magnitude of this amount of awesomeness rivals that of Chuck Norris, and may very well be over 9000!

Haha. Thanks Voltor.
All my guitar effects have been transfered to the Phatty and I can get some pretty awesome things out of them !!
