Little Phatty and MP-201 confusion

I'm trying to get my LP and MP-201 to talk to each other. I want to use the LP in latched arpeggio mode and have the MP-201 control the filter on the LP in time with the arpeggio.

Here's what I think I know:
1. The LP will be the clock source and the clock will only be generated when the arpeggiator is running.
2. I need to run a MIDI cable from the OUT on the LP to the IN on the MP-201.
3. I need to run a quarter inch from the MP-201 back to the Filter In on the LP.
4. I need to make sure the LP and the MP-201 are on the same MIDI channel.

This is how I have things set up. The MP-201 lights up on beat with the LP arpeggio.

However, the filter does not vary with the LFO when the clock source is set to MIDI. It'll control the filter just fine when the clock source is tap tempo or free running.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,
Bryan

Maybe the LP doesn't put out a MIDI clock signal?

Or maybe the LP needs to send a "real time start" message for the LFO to start. Hmm . . .

I think I figured it out. The MP-201 needs to be the clock source, not the Little Phatty.
