Mooger Fooger, I can't get the full spectrum

I have a question. I have a Roland EV-5 expression pedal along with a Mooger Fooger Ring Mod. It works to an extent but it doesn't go through the entire spectrum of whatever setting I have it plugged into. Any suggestions on what to do?

The Moog expression pedals work the same way. I don't think there is any way around it. This has been discussed on most of the forums here since I've been a member. If you find a way around this issue, let us know!

If im not mistaken, youll only get like 30 minutes maybe (if you think of the pot like a clock) with one of the pedals.

Can you verify that?

Well that's disappointing, I apologize that it's been discussed before. And yes Erick I get about the same range with these pedals.

with my yamaha fc-7 foot pedals I can have the whole range of the pot and even extend it a bit.
I think I read about this somewhere on this forum, actually.
I have tried this with my new mf-104z and can extend the max delay time for 100 or 200ms.... I recorded it and looked at the waveform, I just can´t remember the actuall amount and the settings..

FC-7...do they still make those? I may be interseted in buying a few if they do. :D

Ive also noticed too that when I get to the toe end of the pedal, the voltage drops. (I guess i reached the end of the allowed setting)

Im using an Ep1 too.

Like if im controlling my delay, I will get to the toe position and the feedback will drop out.

I think if you change the value of the pot in the foot pedal, you get more.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? However, I use both 50 and 100k pots with my rig, and there's no difference in the range they cover. Any other ideas? Not trying to be sarcastic, but it is an annoying problem that I've been trying to figure out. :? Thanks for trying, though! Really do appreciate it! :D

Also, matt the fiddler, I've tried 10k pots, and that limits the range further. Short of trying 1 meg pots, I dunno how to fix this issue. :? And 1 meg seems like it would cutoff the bottom end.

i was just reading some reviews and some people have said they needed to modify theres to work properly, did your have to do this? seems like this one would be a good deal, if it had an attenuator it would be perfect, looks like ill have to have the Ep2 and the fc7

in my mind the Roland EV-5 and the Moog expression pedals are about the same, no?

I have an FC-7 and it does not work properly with any of my effects, 'foogers included. If I remember correctly, it has to do with the potentiometer, but basically it has a very long physical sweep, but 90% of the effected range happens in the first 20% of the physical sweep starting at the heel.

i have a way to transfer my pedals to +- 5 volts and I have much success getting more range now!

That may seem how it would work intuitively, but changing the pot value will only change the amount of current the pedal draws. The expression pedal is a simple voltage divider and changing the pot will only change the total resistance from source to ground. The resistance ratios that generate the output voltage will still be the same.

Check this out and you should be able to understand how it works:
