Little Phatty w/Roland PK-5 or Taurus Pedals?
Another issue is with the Taurus pedals I may not be able to afford a Synth.
Ideally I'd like to find a deal I can afford on Taurus Pedals and a Little Phatty I.
What do you guys think!
My Alembic has 1 hour left on it's auction. I have 11 watchers and no bids yet. All I need is one!

My friend plays in a Rush tribute band and uses the Roland pedals and a laptop with a soft-synth for Taurus. He also has a Little Phatty on stage for other sounds. I'll ask him why he doesn't use the Roland pedals with the Little Phatty next time I see him.

If you want the Taurus bass pedal sound, the Voyager does a better job than the LP. My Vger and Source does Taurus imitations quite well - and I own a set of Taurus pedals.

I was using Roland PK-5 pedals with my Voyager, the combination worked very well and sounded great. Lately I have been using the Voyager more for lead synth parts, so I now use a Yamaha CS1X with my PK-5 pedals. Not quite as good as the Voyager, but still very effective and the synth only cost me $150 ! I think the LP with PK-5 would be an ideal setup.
Either way you will need some good subs to handle the bottom end.

well, Rush uses the Phatty with the roland pedals and it seems to be good enough for Geddy.

Geddy is using the LP for leads, not pedal bass. A lead synth does not always make a good pedal bass synth.
I compared an LP next to my Taurus pedals. No way can the LP cop a Taurus.

The Taurus patches on OS 2.00 are actually very accurate...until you do a side by side comparison with a set of Taurus pedals. But without the Taurus pedals, and a hint of reverb from the amp, it really does KINDA sound like a Taurus. MC is correct overall...a Voyager RME with the PK-5's would be ideal.

It's looking very likely that I'll be going just that way, with a Little Phatty to boot!
I have my 1972 Rickenbacker 4001 listed For Sale on the Rick Resource website and if someone doesn't take it directly then I'll put it up on ebay in a couple of days.

Yeah, but what was wrong with them? Most likely have a few bad switches, a couple missing knobs or broken sliders, no main board, etc. A decent set will set you back at least $1500. Or maybe the guy has no idea of what he has. Hmmm. Interesting...

One thing I do want to point out...Geddy does not use Roland PK-5 pedals, but rather Korg pedals. He's used the Korg pedals since the 80s, even back when the Taurus pedals were still part of his live synth gear. I don't know about you, but personally I'd be on cloud nine if Geddy decided to use some T3 pedals on the next Rush tour!

He's already ordered three, I'm sure.

Well, if that's the case, then he can autograph one set and give it to me.

If I'm not mistaken, Chris Squire's used a set of Moog Taurus Base Pedals since day one. Can anyone confirm that?
