Has anyone coaxed any sort of string sounds out of their Voyager?

Care to share how it's done?

I managed to get an approximation of a string sound on the Voyager. I'll have to draw out the chart.

ive never been a fan of monophonic strings... actually I dont think ive even seen a mono string patch on any synths ive owned, seems kinda useless unless u wanna layer trax forever. U trying to get a similar sound to a polymoog string or something?

yes, a monophionic strings sound has no sense mostly, by the way strings sounds are synthesized with sawthoot waveforms, mid-long attacks and mid-short releases on evenlope generators (wich has sustain). filters are not modulated, and the cutoff can be someway open around 1KHz or little more. can be usefull to have FM driven by Mod Wheel (around 6/7 Hz) and of course glide.
but this is not science, trial and error is still a good synthesis approach (if you know what you're doin) :D

I patched a fairly good violin sound yesterday on the Voyager.

Yeah it's monophonic but when you play some fiddle lines and classical motifs it sounds pretty good.

I used two ramp VCOs, routed LFO to only one of them with the MW, and swept the waveshape with the filter envelope which is multiple triggered. The dual filters helps to nail the woody resonance of the violin - I bet a MuRF in the MIXER INSERT would go further.

Not that hard.
