Distortion in MIDI setup using Pitch wheel

Hi
I have a problem with my Electric Blue (3.3). When I use it in my studio with MIDI IN/OUT connected to my Digidesign MIDI I/O Interface with ProTools HD, and use the pitchwheel (all way down in pitch), the MOOG suddenly distorts a lot, the volume turns up, and there's a lot of noise (hum). The noise stays on even if I turn off the Moog until I disconnect the powercord totally.
When disconnected from MIDI, it works OK - even with extensive use of pitch-wheel.
Any suggestions?
