What is a fair price to pay for a good condition mid 70's model D Minimoog?

On e-bay they seem to be going for US$3000 ~ 3600+

I live in Australia & I think the only chance I'll ever get of owning one will be to buy from the US.

Any opinions?

Why not a Minimoog Voyager OS? Once they did away with the digital side of things it didn't seem there'd be any reason to hunt down an old one. Is it nostalgia? Just curious why you prefer the Model D? I'd be a bit concerned about the lifespan of the original, parts becoming more and more scarce. The OS looks amazing, I am astonished (and thrilled) Moog decided to produce it in spite of its niche market appeal.

I remember looking at Model Ds in the past and seeing them go for $1500-$2000.

And I agree, unless your goal is collecting, the voyager line has possibilities that the model d didn't have.

I do own a voyager (and I LOVE it) - but it doesn't have the raw power of the model D

I wonder what the old school will sound like?

What do you mean by 'fair price' exactly? As with any other collectible, the fair price is whatever the market will bear.
