Guitarist - Where to place the MF-101 ?

Post by DrSokoban » Thu Apr 15, 2004 11:29 am

Hi all !
I just found a MF-101 and this beast is incredible. I want to include it in my fx loop, between my guitar and my amp.
I got a stage chromatic tuner (Boss TU-2), an overdrive (Boss OD-3) and a wah pedal.
Up to now, my setup is the following:

Guitar -> TU-2 -> Wah -> OD-3 -> AMP

Where is the right place for my MF-101 ? Just before the amp ? Just after the wah ?

Thanks for any help !

and sorry for the poor english :(

There's no right way...it's what you prefer. I have my MF-101 after my overdrive and wah pedal although I rarely use the wah and filter at the same time.

I think the more common way would be to put the filter before the overdrive.

101 w/ Overdrive

I don't have a lot of experience with Overdrive but I would imagine the 101 would go better after the Overdrive since you would have more harmonics to filter.

I'd place the distortion between the 101 and the wah, but which goes first and which goes last would depend on which works better into the distortion and which works better after. They'll certainly be different, which reaction is better is up to you and what you want.
