test drive #3

Post by sine » Fri Jul 20, 2007 1:00 pm

I tried an LP SE again, this time at Sam Ash. Things I liked:

LFO square wave pitch modulation spans more than 1 octave. Being able to do an octave is musically useful. The excursion range was actually an octave and a minor 6th, if I recall.

The Master Menu Precision Mode can function like my old Mini's 10-turn pot on osc. 2

Filter self-oscillation works, as does full keyboard tracking.

I also like the feel of the wheels. On the Voyager, which was right above the LP, the pitch wheel spring resistance was hard to move by comparison. I'm sure it's something you'd get used to, but I preferred the feel of the LP's pitch wheel.
