Frozen Prodigy Mod wheel

Post by RickeyMouse » Mon Apr 05, 2004 3:15 pm

Anyone know how to unfreeze a Mod wheel controller. I have no Idea why mine has "dried up" or something. I use it alot in my playing, and now it is very difficult to move. The Prodigy is stationary in a studio and hasen't been dropped or had and liquid spilled on it. It's as if the wheel's internal lube has dried. It was sprayed once from the outside with Tech Spray pointiometer cleaner for general reasons but that was a year ago..How can I fix this ?

probably the best you can do is to replace the pot...it should be easy and cheap...
remove the original one, go to an electronic components shop, show them the broken pot and ask for another exactly the same of the old one, then replace it on your prodigy. you only need a small experience in soldering to do this.
good luck
