How do you pronounce "Moog" and "MoogerFooger

I have heard two ways to pronounce this: 'Moog' rhyming with 'rogue' and 'Moog' rhyming with 'coug' (short for cougar). And how do you pronounce 'moogerfooger'? It seems like that would be pronounced with two 'oo' or long 'u' sounds, not two 'o' sounds.
thanks in advance,
Mike

My associates and I have officially, in our cliche at least, changed the name to MOOOOg as in bOOb, GOOgle, SnOOp Dog, and other gOOd words that contain double O's. We acknowledge the actual pronunciation, but just chOOse another option. So when I say MOOOOOOOOg it's out of personal preference and not ignorance. :)

I think I would like to do that too. It just sounds so much cooler to say it 'Moooog'.

Interesting opinion, but it's not the man's name...

Although I have no way of confirming whether this was true, or some load of crap (although I must say if it was a load of crap, someone went to a lot of effort to create a reason to continue mispronouncing...):
I read somewhere that Moog originally pronounced his name Mooooog, but later changed the pronunciation at the request of his wife, who was a teacher and had some student-related trouble with that pronunciation.
Again, I have no way of confirming this story... but I remember hearing it from a source that made me think it was accurate.
Also, I remember reading an interview with Roger Manning Jr. and Bob Moog where Bob said it wasn't important.
Anyone around who can confirm yea or nay?

I know I'm late. I had a Moog Promo red Plastic sampler record, the Narrator pronounced it 'Moag' or "Mohg" (Rogue) I have a clip if interested.... "Come... Moog with us...."

On the Top 10 Electropop, when the Pet Shop Boys were crowned the #1 position, I recall the narrator saying "the marks and angles of the Mini Mooooooooooooooooooog.........." meh, I can't remember the rest. :)

hi
moog is a music player. Most people pronouce the synthmaker’s name Moog as “Mooog”. Those in the know pronouce it “Mogue”, like “vogue”. It seems as though there is another pronunciation that I didn’t know about, “Moch”.

It is pronounced smith. All the letters are silent.
