Hi all,
As most of you know Moog has launched the new version of their editor for Voyager. We think it is pretty cool stuff and as we provide support for it we want to make sure that all are happy with it.
Any comments regarding functionality and issues of any other type you can email our support email: moog [at] soundtower [dot] com (or post here or email me) and let us know.
We had a blast at NAMM. Great to see the MOOG display packed with people from open to close every day. Great job!
cheers
Derek

Great !
But I did not see the new version on the Moog news at all.
Anyway, it is looking great. I will connect my Yoager to it this weekend.
Is it normal, that you have to fill in the registeration data on this version? I think I did not had to do so on the other versions that came after I registered.
From your webpage about the Moog Voyager editor:
"MOOG Voyager OS software 2.5 or higher*
...
* Works on Intel Mac"

I didn't knew that the Voyager OS can be run on a Intel Mac
I would lave to see a screen shot of this before trying it here
The ability to load Moog Voyager sounds as single preset or panel dump file would be very helpful. Sound available at the Moogspace or the Yahoo group come in this format. And one still needs a seperate sysex sender software to load these files into the Voyager. And then you are able to manipulte it or assigne it to a different preset number (if it isn't a panel dump).

Hi Derek,
is there an update for vers. 2.0.2 PC users available?
If so, how to update an older version?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Derek,
only some remarks on the demo version (Classic-Surface):
- switching a (e.g. 6-state) switch to its most left position displays a '1' inside its center
- switching it one position to the right displays a '0'
- the most right position shows a '4'
- switching one position backwards (to the left) delivers a '5'
... a little bit confusing at the moment.
Turning a pot to its most left position rarely shows a '0' at its center, but mostly a '4', or '3', while the 'Par No.' top line always displays exactly '0'.
I think this is easily to resolve by your experts.
Very, very nice design of the full scaleable 'Classic-Surface', really. Thank you a lot!

Nothing about upgrades at the moog website, ok, i have a look at soundtower now, but why isn't something mentioned here?

Hi all,
I’ll post a group note here to hopefully cover all points to date.
Is it normal, that you have to fill in the registeration data on this version? I think I did not had to do so on the other versions that came after I registered.
For Mac version it is the same code and you ini file should still work. But because of some compiler choice changes here at SoundTower the PC version will need to have new codes. Moog will email those with PC versions shortly to get you up and running. If you cannot wait please email moog [at] soundtower [dot] com with your original name used and email for the info .
The ability to load Moog Voyager sounds as single preset or panel dump file would be very helpful.
If you are asking for this from sysex only then no problem; we will implement this. Please be patient for update.
Sound available at the Moogspace or the Yahoo group come in this format. And one still needs a seperate sysex sender software to load these files into the Voyager.
This is doable if you click on Help in main menu and select: “Moog Voyager OS Update” You will open a dialogue box that will let you choose any .syx file to load if you have it on your HDD. Be it an OS update or just a patch. Just a courtesy to help avoid having to load up Midi-Ox (very fine product btw) or what not.
only some remarks on the demo version (Classic-Surface):
- switching a (e.g. 6-state) switch to its most left position displays a '1' inside its center
- switching it one position to the right displays a '0'
- the most right position shows a '4'
- switching one position backwards (to the left) delivers a '5'
... a little bit confusing at the moment.
Turning a pot to its most left position rarely shows a '0' at its center, but mostly a '4', or '3', while the 'Par No.' top line always displays exactly '0'.
You are correct; thank you, I’ve sent this on to programming. This slight oversight will be dealt with quickly.
Very, very nice design of the full scaleable 'Classic-Surface', really. Thank you a lot!
Thank you!!
so, do i have to buy it again?

No you do not. Moog is incredibly busy and I am sure they will have all pertinent information available soon. Our site will pretty much just direct you back here. If you have a technical question regarding the software then: moog [at] soundtower [dot] com is the way to go.
is there an update for vers. 2.0.2 PC users available?
V3.0 is the one to use to update from 2.0.2 version for PC. To do so just double click on the setup exe and it will do the replacement.
Thanks ever so much for you input! Don’t be shy now; we need to know what you think.
Cheers
Derek

Derek,
now tell why the dashboard of your Voyager OS for the Intel Macs isn't showing on my Voyager LCD or the touch surface
I had a real nice evening yesterday (I could not resist) with the new version 3.00 and my Voyager hooked up together.
I got some little errors on the graphics of the new Classic surface:
the Moog logo vanished "under" the control panel on resizing and stayed there no matter how I resized the window. Running the latest public Mac OS X version here on my (non Voyager OS

) iMac.
And a little request:
Is it possible to show the added values on the upper right a bit longer then the actual move of a knob lasts? it is impossible to read the values right now. There should be a little 1-2 sec hold time. Please.
All in all a very good improovement !
And I will try the sysex transfer via the OS update function soon. Of cause I own some sysex tool here. I have to do backups of new synths here for beta testing often.
But I like to have all in one application. And the Voyager Editor is only missing this. I don't think import of .mid files is need at all. I have not seen a Voyager patch dump stored as .mid files for a long time.

Yeah, and then it asks for the registration code, which not everybody happens to save.
So if you don't have your # handy don't bother unless you want to wait around for support.
Thanks a pantload for that, BTW.
edit:
Found the registration code xx7xx.xxx
"Invalid Registration Code"
I bought the sw 7/8/05 from Moog.
So even if you have your registration don't go for it.
Thanks another pantload for that, Soundtower.

Hi Till,
Sorry for the delay getting back to the board. I've forwarded your note to programming.
Thanks,

Hi Derek,
another (small) problem:
The SE doesn't really remember the MIDI settings, but "imaginary" numbers that Windows chooses.
If you select the MIDI IN & OUT Port (e.g. the third one in the list) and then (after restarting the computer) one of the (not used!) MIDI devices (e.g. the first one) isn't present any more, the SE uses furthermore the third interface device of the list. But this one isn't the primarily selected because the numbers are newly assigned due to the missing device.
This results in some confusion of the user...
Only a hint. Hope this helps.

Well we certainly do not want any confusion with our software. Of course it helps! Thanks again. I'll post when fixed.
