Messenger Modwheel - Issue?

Hello,
I'm new to the Moog family and recently bought a Messenger. I'm very happy with this synthesizer. I'm usually used to synths from Arturia and Elektron. But here's my issue:
Is it possible to set the mod wheel so that it only opens the filter, without constantly having that triangle behavior? I want to play the synth live and I'm used to "play" the filter using the mod wheel. If I set the LFO2 rate to be as slow as possible, when the triangle wave drops, there's no sound at all anymore because the filter closes.
If anyone has a workaround or another tip, I’d really appreciate it.
