Muse 'frozen'?

I've just had my muse freeze up twice in about an hour.
I've just got it beside my desk and noodle on it as a fidget spinner of sorts as I work - so not sure how long its taken to freeze up.
Almost nothing is responsive, menu, audio output all frozen up.
I can press the buttons outside the programmer area and see the LEDs respond, but all buttons within programmer are also frozen.
It's happened on the same patch both times - going to move that now and see if that changes anything. I have a USB connected that I will also try later as part of cause elimination, but then I am all out of ideas.
Anyeone else?

I believe I've narrowed this down to rebooting my PC with the Muse connected (and maybe active?) via USB midi. I don't normally like to use USB for midi but I have the keyboard in a temp location that makes USB the pragmatic option til it goes back into my synth rack.
The issue is quite possibly specific to something I have at the other end of the USB cable (PC, motherboard, hub, whatever), but I thought I'd loop back in case anyone else comes here with the same issue looking for a cause.

I think you are correct. I had a lockup that the midi panic button didn't resolve. I was hooked to an outboard sequencer where I was making connections while powered up. I rebooted and was ok.

I had the same happening, Muse freezing up and it even started screaming. I connected the Muse via USB to the PC, with the difference that both were already running.
The Muse just doesn't like USB, i think.. the only way out was to power the Muse down, it was completely unresponsive.
In my opinion there are way too many bugs with this wonderful sounding synth, we urgently need fresh and more stable firmware.

It's pretty sad honestly. Moog is resting on its laurels while the synth is still, as Florian from Bad Gear called it, a bug infested nightmare. This USB problem has dogged this synth for so long now and it's still not fixed.

I just wondering why some are using USB to computers connected on the Muse does it have an editor, or are you only updating the OS and which USB port is it the square one "B" etc.? Is it for a DAW? I guess mine is never hooked up to my computer so I haven't had this issue. Maybe the UBS cable was simply left connected even though it wasn't being used directly and still caused a problem. Good to know what it is.

I used it for midi since my interface (apollo x4) doesn't have midi ports. But the issue with midi is related to latency and people have reported issues just playing the keyboard with not all notes happening when they should.

I think bug infested nightmare is a bit of an overstatement. It's an enjoyable, functional synth with a couple big issues and a pocketful of small ones. They all should be software addressable - hopefully they don't let us down. I have faith, though I wonder why I still do myself at times...
